I was hurt when i found out erryone could see Snuff. And I'll admit, I thought Elmo was kinda cute at first, but by the time that tickle me shit came out he was over.

but then the SS team thought that that was setting a bad example because it made kids feel like they should hide things from adults, so they had an episode where adults could all of the sudden see snuffy...and he's been "real" ever since.

just don't expect answers to come from your speakers. Somebody ( a "Leader" or social organization) needs to take that message away from the record and promote it socially. That's when it works.
Strongest SS memories are... -the short where they document the guy who makes a steel pan, from finding the junked barrel, taking it to a metal shop and shaping/tuning it, through to playing it on the beach. -1-2-3-4-5, 6-7-8-9-10, 11-12!
Guess it was clear my interests would lie in the soundtrack rather than the characters.

I used to watch late 70's reruns of SS and the 80's ones when it seemed kinda newyork centric learned some spanish: hola means hello learned some eskimo: uk-i-uk means snow
sometimes cause I'm in michigan we would get the canadian version which had little french words instead of spanish
they completely turned a section of that show into Blue's Clues. I mean, Blue's Clues is great. But damn...you don't need to change Sesame Street into Blue's Clues. Fuck Blue. And her clues.

I WANT to say Sesame Street never jumped the shark - I certainly will still encourage my kids to watch it when they're pre-school age (better that than the Wiggles). But, the problem with today's SS is Elmo. He's completely obnoxious to anyone over the age of 6, and they've been building the show around him more and more. This means less airtime for Grover, Ernie & Bert, Oscar, etc. Those original characters WERE better than the ones they focus on now, and they were actually tolerable for the parents and older siblings. I guess I'm not ready to write the show off altogether, but it really has declined in quality. As a previous post mentioned, the death of Jim Henson probably hurt the show a lot. I think he was responsible for designing and developing those early characters we remember so fondly. Without him, the show has perhaps lost its way.
i was youngster, so it probably jumped before my adolescent prime. but i will always remember sundays (same day as the "big newspaper") with the two episodes.
