The entire movie will be some faux-pretentious crappile, right? It'll be bloated and generally give into Shamalamadingdong's diminishing street cred... then, like 99.9% of audiences will walk out before the last five minutes...

...when suddenly Ultra-Magnus hops on a motorcycle, jumping 20, no, 23 burning school busses whilst kung-fu chopping Chuck Norris in the beard before landing next to a lick triangle featuring Vida Guerra, Elke the Stallion, and KiToy Johnson.

All while "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nothin' to Fuck With" plays in the background.

And... ROLL CREDITS!

Aside from all of the hilarious posts mocking Shyamalan's crazzy ass twists, why the eff are so many of yall hatin on him for. I think, and I UNDERSTAND its my opinion, that he is a good filmmaker, someone who really injected a bit of fresh air in to the climate of today's mainstream cinema. With that said, to whomever said Signs was "poop", please explain!? I mean, otherwise your opion on his film is nothin short of "poop", asshole. Why can't y'all just explain why or why not something doesnt suit ya tastes. Also, for the guy who stated "Oh, what Signs could have been" and then jus says NOTHING in the body of the message except the quote of the guy hwo posted "poop" as his review. What have we come too, I mean, at least somewhat explain WHY you all think this way? I'm talking about some 10 page dissertation, just a lil paragraph like my rant-o-graph going on right now! (wow did I jus type "rant-o-graph?!!??!?!). Come on people, enlighten me!(no pun)

Some people may feel they have to, but that's not my thing.

Sixth Sense was great.

Unbreakable was okay.

So, after those 2 movies, or however many were in between Sixth Sense and Signs, I'm just supposed to accept that aliens are allergic to water?

Why exactly does the events in one film have any relation with the events taken place in 2 other completely different films?!?!?!!
It was something that may have seemed simplistic and maybe lazy in its inseption, depending on the person, but it I thought it did fine for what it was. And YES, mayb it would have have been better if we didnt see the aliens at all ad they may have just decided to leave on there own, due to probably extra sensitivity to the smog in the air, who knows the possibilities are endless...

Signs was a great movie up until the reveal. I think it would have been powerful had the aliens not been shown, it cheapened the drama. Plus, they were allergic to water and the boy miraculously survived? Bullshit.

Are you happy, Dust Bunny?

It might have been better if we never saw the aliens while they were in the house. Maybe that one time in Brazil with the little kids running. Perhaps if we had only seen an alien hand with some missing fingers to remind us of what had happened in the pantry. We can wax poetic on how it could've been better all day, I just don't think it was as bad as everyone makes it out to be. But Signs was not nearly as bad as The Village. That shit right there made me mad for a solid two weeks.

Seriously, though, I think Shyamalan is a damn good filmmaker. I still think The Sixth Sense (despite the revisionist history of some who hate it now) and Unbreakable are fantastic movies... Signs left a bit to be desired, while I thought The Village was sly and completely misunderstood, and unfairly mocked -- especially around here. I give the dude credit for even trying to tell that Twilight Zone-esque story.

Nonetheless, I'm getting increasingly irritated by M. Night's ever-growing sense of self importance. I dig any artist (especially one who writes his own material) who has a healthy, bordering-on-unreal, self-confidence, but M. Night's is crossing (or is at least appearing to cross) that line into Arrogantville, where no one wants to live. He's the Kobe Bryant of filmmakers in that regard (and I'm a Kobe fan, so there you go)...

I'm also seriously irritated by the marketing of his films, which he has a heavy hand in. Once Sixth Sense hit, every one of his subsequent films has been advertised as "including a SHOCKING TWIST ENDING that you WON'T SEE COMING!," which not only is irritating and disingenuous, but also needlessly heightens audience expectations for a BIG SHOCKING MAJOR SURPRISE TWIST ENDING that, once it happens, more often than not leaves the audience underwhelmed and angry.

And don't get me started on the lame *whispering* commercials for Lady in the Water...

But again, I like M. Night, but it's only natural to expect that there will be people who feel the need to take him down a peg or two, and deservedly so...

Even though I didnt LOVE the film, I thought it was interesting, and somewhat competently made.

1) I dont really think he's arrogant. I think, it may have to do with he very fact that since he had such a huge hit in The Sith Sense, people have had these huge expectations for the follow ups.

>

Thats kind of what I was saying, market though DOES have a hand in it, but I never heard of any evidence supposrting any facts that HE was heavily involved in the marketing for his films. I mean, thats amongst what the studios jobs include, nest ce pas?

>But again, I like M. Night, but it's only natural to expect

Is it really deserved though? Maybe its jus me, or is it that people are naturally jealous/envious creatures whom will always find wrong amongst people whom see to be held upon pedastools by others(if not themselves).

Then again, who am I to say this, I mean, Im only an aspiring filmmaker, so I guess I kinda vouch for him...
