Philadelphia made me cry way back in the day.

And ANY sports movie, not just baseball, has a shot at making any man cry. The underdog winning always has a chance at setting me over the edge.

I'm not trying to be insensitive, but I have heard you talk about crying in a movie at least a dozen times since I started posting in PTP, and that's about a year ago.

I'm just saying.

I bring it up. Because I think it's important in the "Spike hasn't fallen completely off the wagon" argument, he can still touch people.

And Spike/The 25th Hour get mentioned at least twice a month around here.

But here are two I remember vividly:

Legends of the Fall -
when Aidan Quinn goes back home and sees his once proud and blustery dad, who is now a decrepit and hobbled Anthony Hopkins, walk out of the house...oh boy did they flow on that one

The Mission -
when it all comes apart at the end and Jere,y irons has resigned himself of their fate and is just at peace amongst the chaos and inferno in the jungle. that is so beautiful i cry.

My Life with Michael Keaton made them cry.

I can't remember the last time I cried at a movie. The only movie I remember crying at was Rocky IV when Apollo died, but that was because I was at my brothe's birthday party and all of his friends started making fun of me.

For a movie that don't have belladonna in it, that pretty shocking

BUT it didn't make me cry...it made me shake my head like, DAMN that's fucked up. Buddy acted his ass off in that last scen tho

The aforementioned Field of Dreams "Wanna have a catch?" scene and then, and this shocked the hell out of me when it happened:

The end of The Office reunion special. I know it isn't a movie, but that got me more than any movie or show ever has. I did NOT see that coming. You just don't realize how emotionally involved you get with some of those characters.

But there are probably a dozen more movies that have made me choked up for a spell, but those are the only two that brought tears to my eyes. No movie has ever made me actually make crying noises, though.

----
I check for: Serengeti, Zeroh, Open Mike Eagle, Jeremiah Jae, Moka Only.

Especially when the priest and the tutsi kids run up to the bus in hopes of helping them escape, and the Un soliders turn the kids back. I'm tearing up right now thinking about it.

And believe or not, I once almost cried during an episode of Oz. I think it was during the third season and Said has been kicked out of the Muslim crew. He knows the Arayan nation/bikers are going to try to kill him; he resigns himself to it and gets on his knees right in the middle of the cell block. That shit choked me up, man.

when everyone's lives and fates were unravelling and falling apart in their own way.. damn.. That will be cemented into my head.. And the musical score had a BIG impact on sincerity/emotional factor.. just makes you want to cry..

Also the part where Marlon Wayans was looking back on when he was a kid and when he was with his mom.. very touching, I love how it showed that everyone and everything seens so innocent growing up.. Then adulthood was probably not what he invisioned..

his sidekick, the redhaired kid wearing the Rancid shirt gets bullied through most of the movie, i think with that building up..

the part where he has it with Angus's self loathing after hearing him saying he doesn't know how he feels about what goes on in his life and starts yelling at him about how he's not the only one who wakes up every morning wishing he was somebody else..

yeah that kinda hit me..

that and Millineum Actress, i couldn't believe an animated flick could do that to a person heh

Finding Nemo - I cannot watch the end of that movie. I suppose it has something to do with having a little boy myself, because I'd do the exact same thing.

The Color Purple - Sorry, I don't know a single black person that can sit thru that one and not shed at least one tear

The Shawshank Redemption - Morgan and Tim were the shit. Good to see them get back together at the end

Jerry McGuire - When Cuba got up after being knocked out, don't try to tell me you didn't get a bit choked up, even though you knew he was getting up

Yeah, it's absolutely ridiculous but the end always chokes me up.

"Whaaat? You don't know Junge Love? That sh*t is the maaad notes! Written by God herself and handed down to the world's greatest band: THE MUTHAFU**IN TIME!"

It's not even at the end where Chief puts him to sleep and busts through the wall, it's in the middle when the nurses won't let them watch the World Series so McMurphy starts doing his faux play-by-play and everybody is going nuts. "It's a fucking home run!" I don't know why, but that shit gets me every time.

Come on did anyone see "Glory?"...The scene of the night before the battle at Fort Wagner. "We mens, ain't we?" And damnit...how could a brother keep a dry eye when Oprah had to leave the fam on Christmas to drive her boss lady home. Oh!!! And let's not forget Whoopi seeing her kids for the first time and playing hand games with her sister again... "Ma-Ma"

Either I am a weepy b*tch or you cats have no heart for those simple moments in cinema.
