"Most unbelievable shit you ever saw in a Movie"

I would give the title to the Part in Superman where he reverses time by flying really fast around Earth, cause that shit is wrong on so many levels

But Instead I'll have to go with that classic scene in Mighty Ducks 2 when Emilio takes his team to the mean streets of South Central LA to have his team learn new tactics from the tough inner city kids.

What the fuck was THAT!?!? I can only assume a white dude wrote that script, but couldn't he have done at least a LITTLE research?

but that time travel shit was pure dee garbage

Ok, let's pretend that spinning the earth backwards could really reverse time. I'm still pretty sure he would do more harm than good by doing such a thing

my problem isn't the fact that it's not believable, but that it's incredibly problematic just on a pure storytelling level.

and was thus going back in time, and so it's not that he physically spins the earth backwards, but it was just a visual to illustrate the flow of time going backwards.

just that the movie isn't necessarily showing that he turned back time by physically spinning the earth's rotation backwards.

jumping out of the way of that huge explosion at the very last minute. Funny how those 3 made it out unscathed while EVERYBODY ELSE WAS BEING INCINERATED

oh yeah and uploading a virus onto the alien's ship using a Mac, who knew?

Whatever this becomes,
Whatever words I say, we are the fortunate ones,
And when the days are done I won't forget.

Someone hired and trained planks of wood to recite dialogue for an entire film!!

Then they must have tracked down some old mad scientist special effects wizard and had him design and build animatronic robots for the two bad guy white boys. Nowhere on Earth are there two white males with that much rhythm.

Cops get a call right before they're about 2 check the trunk. How conveeeeenient!

Huge pet peeve. Someone's in a real pickle & you wonder if/how they'll get out of it but instead you get cheated w/ some corny ass simple shit like that. Out of Time had a ton of moments like this but handled them much better. It also had Eva Mendes.

The other unbelievable moment in this flick besides (as someone else pointed out earlier in another post) Cruise goin T2 up in da club, is when Cruise asks the jazz player where did Miles Davis learn 2 play & Foxx replies, "Music school!".

What was even more unbelievable was when the rest of the audience started laughing. Kurlyswirl I think I saw this w/ you so my apologies if you also found this funny but I think we both talked about it afterwards & I think we were both rolling our eyes @ that scene.

Rant over.

I almost like but at the same time can't stand "convenient" moments like the ones you mentioned...

and your rationalizing said "moments" in 'Out of Time' for the mere casting of Eva Mendes is priceless...

Naw Mendes was a bonus. So was her outfit. But before I get off track again let me clearly state that I enjoyed the fact that Denzel had 2 think & work his way out of difficult situations time & time again. I didnt even like the movie that much but I kept watching it just 2 see how he would keep getting off the hook. I dont recall any scene where he didnt have 2 work 2 escape from getting busted. That scene in Colateral they just get lucky & its totally unbelievable. It's too easy & it cheats the audience.

well of course I naturally/generally want to see the 'good guy' make it out of sticky situations (i.e. Jamie in Collateral)...

but at the same time if it's TOO unrealistic then it pisses me off...

It was one of the only times I can remember being MAD at a film maker. If it's a bad movie, I'll be like "yeah, you just aren't good at making movies" but at the end of 187 I was like "NO NO NO NO NO!!!! You had a good movie and you fucked it up!!!"

Every single scene w/ a fire in it.

Where's the smoke, Ron Howard? Um, I don't what you were told, but the firemen I know in my life have all told me that you can't see in a fire, because of all the black smoke. In this movie there's tons of fire but no smoke.

The most awful, horrible, and unbelievable movies I've ever seen. Every scene is a hot chitty mess.

Okay, these dudes were suppposed to be hardened criminals! How come none of them got the big idea to steal a van or a truck and drive the fuck back to Coney Island? I know that most people can live their whole lives in NYC and not have to drive, much less have to learn, but these were hardened criminals! I know a few of them had to have boosted a car in their day.

And that lil final confrontation at the end! When Luther fired that gun with about seven muhfuckas standing behind Swan....... you mean to tell me that no one got hit?

And when he shot Cyrus! He fired a gun in the middle of that big ass crowd and no one saw him? That musta been the nigga, in MSG, pointing that pistol at Kells that night!

Between Godzilla 2000 and Commando, I've never laughed so hard at non-comedies. Van Damme is up there too.
