"Seinfeld"

What did you guys think of Seinfeld? Overrated, great, average, junk?

I personally loved it, but it's last 2 seasons were below average.

I don't know of any other show that was as witty and clever.
I just don't get it when people don't even give the show a chance. Some people assume it's weird because of how Kramer looks or how the theme song sounds. Oh yeah, a lot of its comedy is subtle.

Favorite Episodes:
1) Elaine's bra-less friend
Very clever in poking fun at O.J.'s glove fitting at his trial
by using Susan Nitschki's bra

2) Yadda Yadda
How Jerry sat on the kneeler in the confession booth was too
much!

3) the Bet-can't say anything more

4) the Bizarro World

there's just too much to name

I thought the Series Finale couldn't have been done better. It was written in typical Larry David fashion. I knew so many people who watched the Finale without ever watching an episode. That kind of sucked because they didn't catch the humor in all the witnesses who were former characters in previous episodes. That's why many didn't like the Finale, but what do they know....they never watched the show.

Peace

That was one of the best comedies of all time, there hasn't been shit since that can even compare. And don't give me that bullshit ass, "Friends" that's a cheap rip off.
Fave episodes off the top of the head:
Kramer's TV show-absolute classic

Pig man-George was incredible in this one

The Move-Again, George was amazing-he may be arguably the best character on the show.

I LOVED this show. I think I've seen almost all of the episodes. I taped "The Bet", the special before the series finale, and the finale itself. This show was a mixture of high comedy and inside jokes. If you hadn't seen at least half of the shows, you wouldn't know the slang they used or why certain people were funny.

My Favorite Seinfeld Memories:

-The Bet
-Jerry and Elaine fighting over whose finger was in whose face first (Jerry looked like a nerd imitating a cowboy)
-Elaine saying "Get out!" accompanied by a shove
-Art Vandelay
-George being an architect
-the many conversations about nothing that sounded very important
-Elaine's Christmas card episode
-Elaine getting bit by a "rabid dog" episode

There's more, but I'll have to consult an episode guide to remember. I'll be back! (c) Arnold

>>-Elaine's Christmas card episode

Also, the episode where Jerry was trying to remember his girlfriend's name, which rhymed with clitoris(Delores)

& the episode where Kramer set the Puerto Rican flag on fire by mistake, in turn igniting the wrath of the entire Puerto Rican community at a Puerto Rican pride parade(they later apologized for the episode because members of the Puerto Rican community complained about it, but the way it was executed by Michael Richards was just classic comedy. VERY funny stuff.)

Smart and fucking hilarious, although after Rob Morrow walked on them the show suffered. Those characters are always with me, esp. Chris and Maggie. Seinfeld just didn't appeal to me the same way. And yes, props to News Radio.

I loved the one where they were all gonna rent a beach house for the summer. Phil Hartman kept talking about how he was going to wear speedos, and how there were "only two weeks left until an entire summer of blissful speedo freedom, or as I like to call it, speedom". I still crack up every time I think about that one.

The worst thing going in my life is that where I live Seinfeld and Simpsons come on at the same time.

Plus the fact that they used to run back to back Simpsons episodes but just dropped one episode of Simpson for NewsRadio. Ive heard good things about NewsRadio but never given it much of a chance. We'll see how it goes

The two greatest tv shows period are the simpsons and of course seinfeld. Both shows are completely original and never seem to become redundent.

favorite episodes-

Seinfeld-The one where elaine gives the denim vest guy a fake number and at the end they all celebrate festivus. Favorite quote from that episode "It's a Festivus merical" -Kramer

Simpsons-The episode when the shelbyville kids steal the lemon tree and all the kids sneak in and try to get it back. Favorite quote from that episode "They're always eating candy. They love tha sweet taste." -Milhouse

I thought it was more Geraldo, Oprah, and the others all rolled into one.

But earlier in the episode, he had acquired the old "Merv Griffin" set, and put it in his apartment. That was hilarious, and I was hoping that when "Seinfeld" ended, they would spin-off a talk show satire "hosted" by Kramer, based on this episode. (I think Martin Mull had a show like that called "Fernwood Tonight.")

remember that one where elaine thought her boyfriend was black and then in one scene called a black waittress "sister" and she gave her a look and elaine was like "it's okay, my boyfriend's black" just as her boyfriend walked in, and then they had that whole discussion like:

boyfriend: i am?
elaine: well, you said we were an interracial couple
boyfriend: that's because you're hispanic
elaine: i am?
boyfriend: you kept taking me to all those spanish restaurants -- and your hair!
(pause)
elaine: so we're just two normal boring white people?
boyfriend: i guess..
(pause)
boyfriend: so.. wanna go to the gap??

they get up and go..

yeah well, seinfeld is by far my favourite tv show...ever. People don't see the genius of the whole thing. Sometimes I watch episodes with friends that aren't into it and george and jerry will be having a conversation about the most bullshit situation...like, cape wearing lawyers and they think it's supposed to be serious or that they are just pushing a concept too far but what they don't realise it's the same shit that they talk about day to day. Seinfeld makes fun of everyone and they don't know it. Subtle

But my only problem with they show is the first two series. With the exception of a few episodes here and there...i can't really watch em. They only really started pushing things to the limit in the fourth series and onwards. Kramer came out as being Kramer. Flying through Jerry's door. Crazy shit.
The genius started coming out in the writing.

In the first few series, I think Jerry was trying a little too hard but by the end, it was a masterpiece.

anyway, that's my two cents

This show cracks me up. Last episode I saw involved Larry David being threatened by that professional wrestler, & his wife accusing him of being an *ass man*. The episode where he tries to become a car salesman was hilarious!

Here at work, I run a trouble-ticket system, and whenever I set up a new project I usually use "Art Vandelay" for testing purposes (If not I'll use another Seinfeld character). About 1 in 10 users might notice.

dont forget about the episode where jerry goes to get the new saab and is going to get a good deal due the relationship b/w putty and elaine, while george gets screwed on the vending machines, and kramer drives jerrys car that he is slated to buy w/o buying any gas for it w/ a dude whos name he doesnt even know. The most self-involved episode for all the characters, Jerry manipulating his friends relationship so he can get a better deal on a car, george only concerened about a twix bar, and of course kramer seeing how long he can drive jerrys car that jerry didnt even buy yet for free. A classic, the bet though was one of my favorite.

That man deserves a Seinfeld Hall of Fame all to himself:
1) The Devil-face paint episode
2) The 8 Ball jacket episode
3) Staring at the seat in front of him on the plane
4) High five
5) E: You hungry? P: Feels like an Arby night to me.
6) The episode where Elaine finds religious tapes in Puddy's car and he confirms that he does believe and she is going to hell.

More, but this cat is highly underrated. If you think Puddy is even somewhat funny then check "The Womanchaser" on video. One of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

One,

In response to Reply # 0

Seinfeld was brilliant, i agree. However i loved the last two seasons too. I loved the subtle and smart humor. So much was going on, much of it goes over some heads. But that's what makes it so great.

Simpsons does this too. People are like "I don't watch cartoons." Or "It's just too weird." But it's the same thing as Seinfeld. There are so many great pop culture references and the subtle humor is so clever, it just amazes me.

FAVORITE SEINFELD EP'S:

1) Master of His Domain
2) Dating Hernandez JFK Parody
3) Jerry's Car stolen/Kramer and Newman use Mailtruck
4) George the Marine Biologist

my fave moments:

---the episode where they lose the car in the parking garage
---master of your domain
---soup nazi (no soup for you!!)
---elaine's christmas cards (everyone was calling her nip)
---the jfk conspiracy episode (with the spit and the baseball game)
---that scene where jerry steals the old woman's marble rye

...if I were a superhero, I'd be Had-It-Up-to-Here Woman, sneaking around grocery stores, malls, and amusement parks all over the world. With lightning speed, I'd snatch up bad azz kids and give them three swift licks with my golden switch and vanish into thin air before anyone knew what happened...

Back when I used to have a roomie, I would hate it when she would put a dirty dish in the sink without running some water in it. If you're not going to wash the dish right away, at least don't let the food get all crusty and hard on the plate!! YUCK!!

Look over to your left...yeah, up in the corner. As a suggestion, you may want to take two.
