And I haven't been able to find the DVD for a reasonable price.
I think it's definitely underrated. That shit was hilarious.

"Pootie don't go!!!!"
Man, are people that oblivious to some real campy, silly ass humor that doesn't really on fart or semen gags these days? Why this movie was so reviled upon its release, I'll never know.
One of my favorite parts is when Dirty Dee offers the dumb neighborhood kid "the type of candy you smoke with a pipe." LOL.
This is actually one of Chris Rock's best movies! I wonder if he can tell a good script at times....
"Jus cause a lady like to dress fancy and dance next to some whores dont mean she hookin!" ---"You greasy bastard...." god bless wanda sykes she is the funniest female on the planet
"Commin from the projects on the hill...In my monkey green ragtop Seville."---Black Elvis

You best believe I got it on DVD! Squeeg, I got it from Circuit City for like, 18 bucks. I'm mad Pootie Tang could reflect bullets with his ponytail and belt buckle! Did anybody pick up on the fact that the music was handled by Quincy Jones III?
And that old dude trying to pick up Biggie Shorty like she was a hooker...Didn't he look like a muppet?
My favorite part is the "silent song", when the short-order cook was dancing! I still find myself sometimes mimicking his fly dance moves...

Maybe they'll run it on sale.
Otherwise, I'll have to look into some layaway options.

The club scene with Pootie singing with Missy nearly draws tears every time I see it. I would never try to sell anyone on this movie because it is a pretty pointless film but it is actually one of the few that I've seen in the past few years that's struck a chord.

as long as it makes me laugh i'm good. the movie kind of lacked towards the middle but there was a lot of naturally funny shit in this movie as opposed to scary movie which relied heavily on crude humor and did'nt wind up amusing me or a movie like 3 strikes which was just dumb. who ever would have predicted the scene where the grown woman threw the kid toys out of the window, duke just stood there looking at her.
proof that black comedy can be funny, same goes with how high I was thoroughly amused by baby powder, his sidekick pimp and the rest of the movie.
what i need however is the best of the chris rock show vol. 1 & 2 on dvd
Man I saw this joint like seven times in the theater (cause I was working as an usher at the time). I loved this movie. Plus I met Pootie while they were filming it in Bed stuy. I talked to him during some off time while he was in front of his trailor. He was cool. When he hops out the car and does that dance in the begining I fall out every time.
