Somebody help a sista out . . .
Please suggest some good black movies, I'm looking for ideas for a play and need some inspiration. The movies don't have to be classic like the Color Purple, but they should be good. Please don't suggest anything stupid like, The Wash or one of them CashMoney/No Limit bootleggin lookin movies. If you don't know what I mean by good, here are some examples: Crooklyn,The Color Purple,X,Bamboozled, Eve's Bayou, Slam, Disappearing Acts, Sarafina, Dead Presidents,Coming to America and The Women of Brewster Place, Stupid Movies: Two Can Play That Game (not funny), I Got the Hook Up . . . you get the point.
I get a lot of ideas from old movies like Cornbread,Earl, and Me. I'm asking yall because there are some good black movies that I'm not familar with. I'm sorry if I offended anyone by asking for black movies, but I love my culture, and I love good black movies. By the way I seen Sankofa in one of the black book stores in my area, has anyone seen it, is it good ?
Peace, Sista BlakStaar
