Especially when Tommy and Jimmy beat down Billy Batts.

Ebert said that Scorsese started the extensive use and forthright use of popular music in movies in Mean Streets, one of Scorsese's lesser seen great films.

What the hell is the name of that song? Ive been looking for it for a while now. I checked the credits but I cant seem to find it

My favorite part in Goodfellas (musicwise) is the whole music sequence when Henry is being followed by the hellicopter all day. Its one of my favorite sequences ever filmed

The bar scene in Mean Streets with the Stones music is tight as hell. Scorsese seems to have a thing for The Stones in his movies (Goodfellas, Casino, Bringing out The Dead) but Im sure we wont be hearing any Rolling Stones in Gangs of New York .

where they close in on Deniro when he's smoking? When Henry says thats when he knows Jimmy is gonna have Maury whacked? If it is thats not the Stones, its "Sunshine of your Love" by Cream. And yeah I love that scene. The combo of the music and Deniro's facial expression is the great

Way too many to list, and the one's listed so far are great choices, so as opposed to a "greatest" here are a couple really good ones-

Iggy Pop- "Lust for Life"- Trainspotting, opening scene

Moby- "God Moving Over the Face of the Water"- Heat- final scene after De Niro gets shot

Various- "Elephant Love Medley"- Moulin Rouge- When Ewan McGreggor and Nicole Kidman end up dancing on the clouds next to a singing moon

Bob Dylan- "Stuck in the Middle with You"- Reservoir Dogs- the ear-cutting scene
