>Its almost like the entertainment industry began in 1990 with >you guys. Murray, Belushi, Chase, I mean come on.
I'll give Bill Murray his, but even at his peak he wasn't larger than Chapelle was at his.
Hell, Chapelle help build an entire NETWORK.
If you deny that, you're simply making the usual fallacy of equating older with more impactful. Hell, from an INDIVIDUAL perspective, Eddie Murphy was more impactful than Bill Murray or Chase was, because Murphy did it on more levels than either(Hollywood, and stand up).
>Personally I think Chapelle is already the Jerry Seinfeld of >today. He'll still do the standup every once in a while but >overall he's sick of Hollywood and he's done with it.
To be honest, as a black kid living in the Inner City projects in the 90s I didn't even know who the fuck Jerry Seinfeld was until my momma sent me to school in the 'burbs.
Seinfeld was very popular to a more narrow range of Americans.
Dave Chapelle, on the other hand, had a wide audience that defied race and class from the VERY beginning. White people ate him up just like black people did.
This is why, up until recently(or perhaps still) the Chapelle Show DVD was the highest selling TV show ever, selling more than the goddman SIMPSONS.
Chapelle's reach >>>>>> Seinfeld's reach.
>Of course he never had the overall cultural impact of a >Seinfeld, so in a matter of 30 years he'll be forgotten to >most. He'll be on the same level of recognition as David Spade >(although much, much funnier).
David Spade is one of the most parasitically unfunny pieces of shit in the history of recorded footage. Without Chris Farley, we wouldn't have a reason for him to have ever walked the earth.
Ever.
To compare Dave Chapelle to David Spade, in any way, shape, or form is to justify why you should suplexed, and have your nose broken. Just shut up with that shit. Please.
