is impossible. you'd have to find someone who THINKS for themselves and not been affected by religious dogma. for those in the "big 3" it's impossible only because everything they'd say to explain themselves would be rehashed from something they've learned and been socialized from the get go to believe...and thus not THEIR thoughts.
the whole "spirituality" thing is also a creation. more modern though... think about this: when you ask peolpe of their spirituality and they all give the SAME answer, would you not think that they've been tainted by the Oprah-esque new age rhetoric that's been happening lately? it's more "open" but it also has people trying to connect with ideas that they don't understand themselves. Boodah and i were talking of this in general (damn i wish i'd posted it over here) where peopl eget into this "spirituality" new age, "non-defined" ideology and just straddle the fence on EVERYTHING so as to avoid being contested on tier belief...also called "PC Religion".

We don't speak as often as we should. Once upon a time I talked to God everyday - now I only deal w/God when I'm in a jam somewhere. I need to work on that. I used to really enjoy our relationship.
i mostly keep in touch thru...heck if i know what to call it, guardian angel? voice of conscience? the comforter? the holy ghost? someone's listening and responds when i have questions, but it's not the One in Person...
or i go see God by checkin' out God's expressions on da urf...you know, go to a park or somethin'...commune with nature and what not.
i believe in the One, and i know that the One believes in me, but i don't think i'm so special to be watched over by the One specifically...nah'mean?
i think God watches out for me thru the Holy Ghost...the Comforter..etc...i think maybe that's how God is ever present in all our lives, whether we choose to acknowledge it or not.
it's funny, a while back i was led through this journey of acquiring knowledge and i was shook, thinking that something was trying to tell me that God doesn't exist, but instead it revealed that God was much greater than i first believed and strengthened my belief.
but to feel the immediate presence of the Creator, i dwell among creation.
i'm sure there are other spirits about tho'. i just wouldn't call myself an animist.

well...he's never introduced himself to me, so I live my life as if he isn't there. I actually don't have any idea on how "god" communicates. The only examples I've heard are indistinguishable from regular human emotions and thoughts in one's brain.

I talk to God everyday, just like I talk to anyone else, using blasphemy when I'm angry and not understanding things, thankful when things are going good and upset when things are bad.
But all in all, it seems as if I'm talking to myself so.........
I'm at the point of "I dunno" and I just live for the moment. Funny thing my sister said after my mother passed away, "I'm ready for my time so I can be with my God(in Christian view)" and I thought about it, coming to the conclusion of not knowing what's after this life and I figured why rush it, just live your life on this earth til your time comes, so that's what I do.

I've always found it interesting that when people would post questions of this nature it came with the post script: I don't want to hear about your religion.
But I would like to know how can this question be responded in a truthful manner if that is the case? Isn't religion a means to return to a Godly state?
Isn't it true that the differance between man and beast is intellect? Due to this intellect man has to LEARN how to worship God, unlike the beasts of the world who know how to without being taught?

My relationship to God is that of worship. From the time that I wake to the time I slumber I worship God. This is achived by knowing my ends and reealizing that my means is a way to that end. More specificly I know that my goal is to meet God in a status of not oweing,or being responsible for negative actions, and having my good outweigh my bad. So everything in my life... every moment is a step towards that. Then it was a matter of making all my actions have intention.
But I am straying. Short in sweet... My relationship with God is that of worship.

I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
I don't need god. I need myself. I don't need god in order to be happy. I don't need god in order to be a good person.
That's not to say I'm always happy or always a good person. But when I'm not, I need to check myself. Not check a book or check a preacher to tell me what to do.
Am I lost? I don't think so. Why would god create me, and then take away my ability to reason and act for myself? Why would god want to make a bunch of sycophants who can't cross the street without asking for help?
If god doesn't exist, I'm glad I have the self-confidence and power to rely on myself. If god does exist, I think she would be happy with my self-reliance and proud of her creation.

i see god in my girlfriend a lot actually. she's like the epitome of a good person, and it really seems sometimes like im communicating with god through her. maybe im just stupid though.
