"THE PASSION: A BOOTLEG OPINION"

I finally picked up a DVD BOOTLEG copy of THE PASSION at one of my favorite bootleg locations that is black owned. Might I say that the DVD BOOTLEG copy I purchased was of HIGH QUALITY for $6. I would encourage all to get a BOOTLEG copy of THE PASSION instead of going to the movie theatres. But anyway...Besides the obvious false depiction of Yeshua (Jesus) I could not help but notice that Yeshua was getting his ass kicked through most of the movie. If anything Yeshua was portrayed as a PUNK. Only in the beginning of the movie did you see one of Yeshua's followers fight back while Yeshua took an ass whippin'. The constant ass whippins along with crying/begging to his father made Yeshua appear to be a PUNK. I watched the movie until Yeshua passed out on the cross. After that I turned the movie off.

This movie is no different than any other WHITE JESUS movie with the exception of the depiction of Yeshua's ass whippins. The constant ass whippin and crying by Yeshua and his followers just got on my nerves. Yeshua was portrayed WEAK/PUNKISH as well as his followers. The image of Yeshua and his followers in this movie is the PERFECT image any slave master (aka Willie Lynch) would want his slaves to worship. The last thing the slave master wants is for his slaves to worship someone who will not take an ass whippin' without fighting back. The white man knows he has black people under their mind control program when they rush to the movies to see a WHITE JESUS movie.

My sentiments exactly marcus, a 2 hour arse whopping and a lot of pussy activities.

Over here in london, people were walking out crying and shit, but the cinema I caught it in most people sat there afterwards with a baffed look on thier faces like "is that the fuck it". Catch it on pirate yes.

That guy...Yesuha...Jesus....got the same beating as over 100 million blacks did less then 500 years ago.

A ridiculous movie, interpretation, whatever, 1 star out of five, and thats only because I would have been at home beating 'my' shit.

Peace

Nobody wants to deal with the false depiction of Yeshua as well as the mind control this movie has over black people. WE all know that this movie makes black people worship white people as well as remaining submissive under white domination.

Confused Negroes in the church running and supporting this movie, if anybody wants any kinda mass support run to the Black Chruch where the assimilationist negroes will support any cause.

Bishop Richard Allen and Bishop Henry McNeal Turner are probably rolling in their graves, the way Pastor Chicken Wing is leading black church goers like blind sheep.

Or do you mean

Confused Negroes in the mosque running and supporting Elijah Muhammad by the assimilations of Negroes into the idea that HE was Prophet. OR that Wallace D. Fard AKA Master Farad
Muhammad was GOD.. Ha!

This mess right here:

"All Muslims are Allahs," wrote Elijah Muhammad, "but we call the Supreme Allah the Supreme Being. And He has a Name of His Own. This Name is 'Fard Muhammad'" (Muhammad: 56). ...Elijah Muhammad

Pluse the NOI celebrates this cat with a holiday, Savior's Day, on 26 February to commemorate Fard's birthday.

It’s obvious that your view of the world is limited. Your focus is only directed towards the surface of the matter and lacks a true goal.

So, tell me what is the real matter of your rhetoric?

what do you consider or mean by "a more positive direction"? More positive for who? For Black people? How so? In what regard? What is this more positive direction? Where do you see it taking/leading us?

Be as exhaustive as possible.

Sidenote: It is typical of "Negro" thinking to almost always think about all people before thinking about their own.

Do I believe that the Civil Rights Movement benefitted Black people? Yes and NO.

The Spill:

It’s like this. The civil right movement did more good for the psyche of black people than any other pro-black nationalist movement. The movements help to break the chains of mental bondage that many black people had in that era. Thinking like “ I can’t be anything because I’m black” or “ I have to take the abuse of another because I’m black.” It also help to build betetr race relations.

Once white America (as in the establishment that maintained the statuesque of segregation) realized that the movement could not be suppressed, they had to recognize the economic influence of black America as directed towards white finances.

Now many people would like to believe that that would have the jobs or attend the schools they attend today, based on their own solo efforts, but that’s like thinking God for the apple and not the tree. Limited sight.

Black people have benefited from the civil rights movement in many ways. Such as human rights, economic independence (if there is truly a thing), education (the ability to attended a school of their choice, the over all power to choose what you want to be.

The only reason Black people have not continued to move even further is because of the lack of a true captivation leader at this point. We have failed ourselves by not backing a qualified black leader that represents the community, and just not out individual interest.

Now, I did not agree with the integration as a means of assimilation. The assimilation mindset has ruined the black community as a whole, not just the individual. The community would be stronger and more powerful.

Overall the civil rights moment has opened many door that can and will allow black people to become more of a force in this country, however, this mentality has not flourished. There are too many people who think that they have arrived and have forgotten their forefather’s vision. The vision that we all shall overcome and prosper.

Black people did not gain economic independence from the civil rights movement...in fact there was a higher percentage of wealth owned by Blacks PRIOR to the 1954 Brown v. board of ed. decision. The civil rights movement was a new matrix...the system starting itself over and with tighter (mental) mechanisms for control. yall ever ask yourself why black kids were willing to get spit in the face, hit with debris etc...escorted by guards to go to school in 1954 but 50 years later nobody wants to go...

THE BAMBOOZLE continues...

And yes if you think the passion was a good movies you believe in white supremacy...everybody arguing if this is historically accurate blah blah blah...when everybody knows jesus wasnt white.
Just think you wouldnt be Christian if your slave master/imperialist weren't. How come slavemasters didnt give black folks anything that was good for them but christianity was given to them. How the fuck you accept religion froma slavemaster?
ISLAM is truly no better cuz the arabs were kicking our ass before the europeans came.

GO READ THE DESTRUCTION OF BLACK CIVILIZATION

Jesus was a revolutionary...everybody with a cross, a pic of jesus etc.. is a blaspheme. Christians the only people who dont know they own religion.

In speaking in reference to today’s era, there is more black wealth than before. Based on per capita. Uh, you need to put down that outdate material home-skillet. Sure there were more black owned businesses based on the population of a geographical survey. However on a national level, the black community had established more wealth today than before.

See you pick and choose to dissect only one part of my statement out of context ,but that’s ok. It’s the only way you could try to make a point.

Now if A black man (Actor) was to play the role of King James, or Napoleon in a movie would you be so upset as to call it inaccurate. See its superficial Negros like your and your boys that get caught up in the surface level thinking. Errbody knows Jesus was BLACK, heck the whole region was.

But if you feel so back about and adaptation, go on down to the next Rap video and protest how or women or objectified and demeaned as Hoes and Bitches. Or protest the use of the word nigger being used or material object being gloried and push into the minds of young uneducated children that can on focus on the fast avenue to a dollar.

What the hell does that mean?

And if everybody knew Jesus was Black we wouldnt be having this conversation. Before segregation black communities were just that black communities. If you couldnt go to whitey's store you had to have your own...How many businesses we own in our community now...? Per capita don't mean shit...You got peeps like Oprah, Mike, Tiger fucking up the scales of those statistics. Go talk to some old school black folks.

I can understand much of your veiw now. The Atlanta-metro area is truly amazing. It's what Chicago and Harlem was for Black people back in the 1920's, 30's, 40's, and 50's.

But in the midst of that Black prosperity, I've seen Black men in the downtown area, by the dozen who are homeless and beggin' for spare change.

Are you gonna tell them that things have gotten better for Black people? Before the Civil Rights movement, you did not see this level of homelessness and no-hope poverty.

I'm not blind to that fact of history. And yest the poverty level is growing. the divide between the haves and have nots is bigger than most think. But, as a whole the balc community is doing it to ourself. we can do more with t he mony and resouces that what is being done. We need to be more responsible for our actions as a community down to the family.

It's like this. I like to call it the spiderweb affect. The black community has so many issues that looking from the inside out on the web we cna't put our finger on the right strand to fix the porblems.. The more we focus on one strand the more confusing it gets to people.

Actually, the black middle-class has grown but the black lower and under-class' (i.e., the masses of Black people) level of poverty has increased.

Individual and collective wealth is not the route to take. Institution building should be our focus. Two men: Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. duBois, had a debate. B.T.W. believed that institution building was the proper route for Black people to take; W.E.B. believed that we should engage in the pursuit of intellectual stimulation (some would say intellectual masterbation).

Almost 100 years after his death, B.T.W. has a school that he built that is still standing and is still graduating Black students. As a matter of fact, Tuskegee has one of the best Veterinary medical schools in the country. White students wanting to study veterinary medicine are on waiting lists to get into Tuskegee!!! Now that's what I call progress!!! A former slave has built a school that the children and grandchildren of his former slave master are on waiting lists to attend!!!!!

What has W.E.B. left in the form of institution for his legacy? That's not to say that W.E.B. was completely wrong. I honestly believe that we need a combination of B.T.W. and W.E.B. But if we could only chose one, I'd pick Booker T. over W.E.B.

Personally, I would. I want the Truth in these "Historical" portrayals. And having a Black man playing a flaming king faggot or a midget conquistador ain't nothing that I'm tryin to see. And it ain't right or truthful. Portray things as they were.

See its superficial Negros like your

I don't think everyone does know this. I think that some have started to believe these fantasies. You hear some make arguments for Jesus not being Black by saying: "He probably looked like the people in that region today." So for far too many, the current portrayals of Jesus are believable because they haven't put the history of that region in context.

Yes, I agree with you here. The way we allow ourselves to be portrayed in these rap videos and movies is criminal and we should not allow it.

Please read it slow, to help increase your chances of understanding (Case_One).

>The Spill:
>
>It’s like this. The civil right movement did more good for
>the psyche of black people than any other pro-black
>nationalist movement.

Let me understand this: Allowing dogs and firemens' water hoses to be syched on women and children while the men of those women and children did nothing was actually helpful to Black people? More so than asserting pride in the way God made oneself, studying and teaching Black history to our children, and trying to establish some means of independence and self suffiency? Please explain.

The movements help to break the chains
>of mental bondage that many black people had in that era.

No, that movement was the very manifestation of mental bondage.

Feeling that you need someone else (of all ppl, our former slave master and current oppressor), to accept and validate you for you to be ok, for you to alright. Trying to prove your humanity to crazy, racist beasts IS slave thinking in action!

The "I'll suffer this pain that massa is puttin' on me" and the whole "forgive them Father, for they know not what they do" thinking is prototypical practice of slave mental bondage thinking.

>Thinking like “ I can’t be anything because I’m black” or “

In short, the civil rights didn't directly try to deal with us being Black; it tried to pretend, in the overwhelming face of racism, that race didn't matter. They were trying to erase the color line and pretend that it didn't exist or at the very least, didn't matter.

>I have to take the abuse of another because I’m black.”

No, as stated above, the Civil Rights movement's declaration was that "I WILL take and endure this abuse BECAUSE I AM BLACK. Takin' this ass whuppin' will prove to your that I am human and worthy of your acceptance." Another Negro false belief fantasy.

Listen, the only thing that our forefathers and mothers proved by takin' those ass whuppins' was that we could take a good whuppin' (no disrespect intended to any of those who have gone and endured before us).

It
>also help to build betetr race relations.

Build better race relations? For who? On what grounds? Under what terms? In what context?

>
>Once white America (as in the establishment that maintained
>the statuesque of segregation) realized that the movement
>could not be suppressed, they had to recognize the economic
>influence of black America as directed towards white
>finances.

Ahh, there is truth and power in what you just stated above. I agree with it to a great extent. There is much power in the Black dollar and everybody wants a piece of it because we give it away without demanding anything in return, for the most part. It's money that business people get with no strings attached.

You've got groups of immigrants who have been coming over depending on us and our money and we support the hell out of them to the point where they no longer need us. They come into our neighborhoods, get rich off of us, and the reality for us in those very same neighborhoods, does not change.

Once we truly realize that we do have money and that you have whole groups of people who come here depending on OUR DOLLARS for THEIR SURVIVAL, we will be a better people for it. (Sidenote: It would do us much good to back and study the Birmingham Bus Boycott, and look at the power our people were able to exercise by simply KEEPING THEIR MONEY IN THEIR OWN POCKETS!)

I guess the part where I disagree with you on the above statement is that white people realized that they were losing out on an economic advantage through segregation and so forth. This is really a double edged sword, because while this thing worked to their disadvantage, it did work to our advantage in so many ways, and it has been so long that most of us have forgotten or have never known about that particular advantage. We've got to ask ourselves why is it that we would want to weaken our communities and neighborhoods like that, risking gettin' out teeth kicked in and neck broken, just to spend money with people who disdain us, who hate the sight of us? What kind of a people act like that? People who suffer from a slave bondage mentality. Negroes living in fantasy land.

At any rate, I don't think that it was solely an economic decision that made white folks decide to yield way to segregation and bring forth the Civil Rights Bill, affirmative aciton, and the like.

Context, context, context. We must view things in context. America was simutaneously participating in the Vietnam war, supposedly fighting for freedom and democracy. And everynight, the nation was being put on blast and being exposed for the hypocritical nation that it is, on nightly news broadcasts which showed women and children being abused for trying to obtain some of this freedom and liberty that America so proudly boasts about.

Once other nations around the world had an opportunity to veiw this footage on a nightly basis, the world view of America became very, very cynical. Other nations knew that the U.S.A. had no right to be goin' around the world, calling itself administering and giving out freedom to other people, by any means necessary (i.e., bullets, missiles, bombs, gases, etc.), while America did not even practice the same thing within its own borders, with its own "citizens". The embarassment from being exposed as a world-wide hypocrite is what made the LEGISLATIVE POWERS give in and yield way. I will agree that reaping an economic beneifit was a good side effect for them, but I don't believe it was the motivating factor.

>
>Now many people would like to believe that that would have
>the jobs or attend the schools they attend today, based on
>their own solo efforts, but that’s like thinking God for the
>apple and not the tree. Limited sight.

I don't know if it's just me but I find it difficult to understand exactly what you are saying in the above passage. I guess you are referencing affirmative action and the like. Affirmative Action, like anything else that has been given to you by white folks, can be taken away. As evidenced by the perpetual debate over whether it's still necessary or whether it should be banished for good. At best, affirmative action is a band-aid solution and no long-term beneifit can be derived from it.

Nationalists know that it is dangerous to allow your enemy(ies) to have free-range access to your childrens' minds as they do in the educational system. All civilized, and proud people, who love their children create, support and maintain their own damn school system (among many other things). They don't risk a beat down to go to school with people who don't like them, to have their thinking programmed by professors, teachers, and instructors, who don't have their best interests at heart.

Where was the "Let's build our own schools campaign" in the Civil Rights movement? Where? No where because it didn't exist? They were too busy, risking life and limb, trying to get into their schools to prove to them how smart we are. Again, looking for acceptance and validation. The number one symptom of a slave bondage mentality.

>
>Black people have benefited from the civil rights movement
>in many ways. Such as human rights, economic independence
>(if there is truly a thing), education (the ability to
>attended a school of their choice, the over all power to
>choose what you want to be.

Do you know who the number one benefactors of Civil Rights and affirmitive action has been? WHITE WOMEN!!! That's right, the oppressors daughters, granddaughters, wives, and sisters have benefitted the most from something that we, Black people, started and sacrificed and suffered the most to get. The Trick bag that this cracka has is bottomless, and I'll let you stay stuck in it if that's what you want to do.

Not only that, look at the immigrant groups, who come here and benefit from our forefathers/mothers' blood, sweat, and tears in the Civil Rights movement, by falling into the category of minority. And some of these groups, with their limited grasp and sense of U.S. history, come into our neighborhoods and disrespect us (e.g., Koreans), while their children are able to attend Stanford, Duke, Georgetown, and other prestigous institutions of higher learning in America, only because of us and our efforts (really our forefathers and mothers, but you know what I mean).

>
>The only reason Black people have not continued to move even
>further is because of the lack of a true captivation leader
>at this point. We have failed ourselves by not backing a
>qualified black leader that represents the community, and
>just not out individual interest.

This is the whole Messiah mentality. If you are waiting on one man or woman to lead us to the promised land, your wait will be a very mighty long one. As I heard the M.H.A. Kwame Toure, say in a speech when I was in college: "If one man was all it took to free the people, I would have done it a long time ago." No one person is gonna do it. The leader is within. All of us most lead in some form or capacity. We must lead primarily through examples of doing something.

And I'm sorry (actually, I'm not), but the path of Civil Rights is not gonna do it. Beggin' our historical enemies and oppressors for validation and acceptance is not gonna do it. We must take on a mentality of Black-nationalism. We must go study the likes of Marcus Garvey, Elijah Muhammad (you don't have to accept Islam to study him), Malcolm X, Amos Wilson, and to a certain extent, Booker T. Washington. These men laid down the Blueprint for what we need to do and how we need to do it.

>Now, I did not agree with the integration as a means of
>assimilation. The assimilation mindset has ruined the black
>community as a whole, not just the individual. The community
>would be stronger and more powerful.

I agree with you here: Assimilation has ruined the Black community. But unfortunately, you can not seperate assimilation from the Civil Rights movement. They go together like peanut butter and jelly.

>
>Overall the civil rights moment has opened many door that
>can and will allow black people to become more of a force in
>this country, however, this mentality has not flourished.

The Civil Rights movement managed to open up doors that can just as easily closed as they were opened and ain't a damn thing you or I can do about it, except to depend on the compassion of our oppressors to leave those doors open, to look out for us.

>There are too many people who think that they have arrived
>and have forgotten their forefather’s vision. The vision
>that we all shall overcome and prosper.

I haven't forgotten our forefathers' vision. Everyday I thank God for the likes of Booker T. Washington, Marcus Garvey, Elijah Muhammad, Malcolm X, Amos Wilson, and Khallid Muhammad.

The only way we will overcome is via Black-nationalism. Any other means is just fantasy and an act of playing yourself.

Why don’t you start the next movement? But before you start, make sure you own house is in order, then your own immediate community, then your city and so forth. Writ us misguided house Negroes a manifesto to help enlighten us on our path to salvation.

I mean, since your not the only one that feels this way and I’m so uniformed and basically socially blind and dumb I your opinion, teach me , tech me and become our leader. Take the whole weight. Step down from your soapy box of rhetoric and do something. Organize some militant or conscious brother marches in black deprived neighborhoods. Do something.

Become what you talk about and defeat what you hate so much. I mean brother man the only way to save blacks in this county is to fall under one single mindset. Yours.

Tell us who God is, toss the bible out and give us a new book. Teach us our native toughs of our ancestors. We don’t want to speak this white mans language anymore. To hell with peaceful protest that have worked in other parts of the world. We want to fight. So go get us some arms to do your bidding. Give me a Big’ol picture and banner of a triple black leader to march under, so I will not forget my blackness.

Teach us. I mean brother man. I have been living a lie. I went form Baptist to Muslim to just being in the holy spirit of god and it was all a lie. Tell me who is God. Teach me my old metaphysical doctrines and sciences. Enlighten me about the rings of Saturn and the Dark Mater properties of the universal.

Yaknow it’s mot about a movie its’ about what’s inside. So teach my community that drinking alcohols is not health, or smoking weed is not a natural act. That having to much sex actually depletes the life force of a man. Teach me how to control my chi. Help me understand the actual numerical values and vibrations of the tones that I speak to t hat I can truly speak life.

Teach me about the basic sciences of the Egyptian Pharos and the Aztecs. Teach me how to cleans my body while meditating.

Better yet just give me a gun and I will make the White man pay for what he made all my black bothers and sisters do to themselves. The white man is killing my community, not Me. So I need you brother to guide me. Help me. Because the way you see it I’m so darn lost.

Thanks for the advice, I'll consider it. But really I don't think that establishing "a movement" in the sense that we have been trained to see it, is the way to accomplish much of anything, long-term wise.

Writ us misguided
>house Negroes a manifesto to help enlighten us on our path
>to salvation.

I don't have to do this, many others already have. Marcus Garvey has his book, _The_Philosopy_and_Opinions_of_Marcus_Garvey; Elijah Muhammad has his book, _Message_to_the_Blackman; Booker T. Washington has his book, _Up_From_Slavery_; Amos Wilson has his book, _Blueprint_for_Black_Power. Some of these authors have many works that are worth checking for. I personally would suggest Amos Wilson's, _Blueprint_for_Black_Power.

>
>I mean, since your not the only one that feels this way and
>I’m so uniformed and basically socially blind and dumb I
>your opinion, teach me , tech me and become our leader.

Yeah, I should teach you alright. I should teach yo ass how to type or spell. You've got problems with one or the other or both. I'm not being funny it's just difficult to read and understand with so many typos and mis-spellings.

I already commented on the whole Messiah leadership theory. You are a leader just as much as I am. Take command over your own leadership power. There's not a one, anybody that is gonna lead or handle this thing for us, we all gotta get busy and get to leading by example and doing, building, and creating. That's where the power of leadership is.

Take
>the whole weight.

That's the thing. This weight is too much for any, one, somebody to try to take on all of it, all by themselves. It just won't work like that and it's foolish to think or make such a suggestion.

Step down from your soapy box of rhetoric
>and do something. Organize some militant or conscious
>brother marches in black deprived neighborhoods. Do
>something.

How do you know that I ain't already doing something?

Marches?? The last thing we need is another damn march. As our distinguished M.H.A. Dr. John Henrik Clarke stated: "We have used enough shoe leather on marches...Marches are a waste of time, energy, shoe leather, and gas (for our cars)...We are engaging in showbiz revolution." (i.e., by marching and the like).

This whole, "let's have a march" routine is played and I hope that I never have to see us embarass ourselves with another march. They really don't solve anything, and they waste resources and energy that could otherwise be used elsewhere. So marching ain't my M.O.

And by the way, my box of rhetoric is no more soapy than yours.

>
>Become what you talk about and defeat what you hate so much.

How do you know that I'm not already doing this? Anyway, I'll take it as a suggestion and thank you for making the suggestion.

> I mean brother man the only way to save blacks in this
>county is to fall under one single mindset. Yours.

No, I'm not saying that. I do know what doesn't work and that's this Civil Rights approach of beggin' your historical enemies/oppressors for acceptance.

>
>Tell us who God is, toss the bible out and give us a new
>book.

I'm still really searching and trying to discover who God is, but when I find out, I'll let you know.

I'm not gonna say that you should toss out the Bible, but you should toss out your slave master's interpretation of the Bible and develop an interpretation that works for us as people.

Teach us our native toughs of our ancestors. We don’t
>want to speak this white mans language anymore.

I don't know about teahing you our "native toughs", but I do know that you needs to get yo behind in some damn English classes. Or typing classes. Or just learn to proof read your own shit before you post it.

To hell
>with peaceful protest that have worked in other parts of the
>world. We want to fight. So go get us some arms to do your
>bidding. Give me a Big’ol picture and banner of a triple
>black leader to march under, so I will not forget my
>blackness.

Man, what the hell are you talkin' about?? I didn't say anything about physically fighting anyone. I declared that we need to use our energy building for us, not fighting anyone. What's your basis for making these statements?

And as far as peaceful protests go, their weren't many peaceful and non-violent protests in the Civil Rights era. The only people who were peaceful and non-violent during those marches and protests were Dr. King and his followers. But there was still plenty of violence that jumped off.

I will assume that you are being cynical again. If you really want to know about all those things, do the knowledge. Research. Information is all around us. Search the internet. Get a library card and check out some books.

I wouldn't mind giving yo ass some spelling lessons though. What is "Dark Mater"?

>Yaknow it’s mot about a movie its’ about what’s inside. So
>teach my community that drinking alcohols is not health, or
>smoking weed is not a natural act. That having to much sex
>actually depletes the life force of a man. Teach me how to
>control my chi. Help me understand the actual numerical

>can truly speak life.

Research on your own. You'd be amazed at what you might learn.

Also what the hell is "Yaknow it’s mot about a movie..." "mot"?

and

"teach my community that drinking alcohols is not health". Does this sentence make to anyone?

Get a G.E.D. or enroll in community college, or something. Please get some help. I'm serious.

>
>Teach me about the basic sciences of the Egyptian Pharos and

Get down to the public library buddy. You can learn all that and then some down there.

If you want to go Collin Ferguson, that's on you. I didn't make that suggestion, nor did I insinuate that that was the mode of action that we should be taking and this is not what most Black nationalists assert. Building not killing is the intended agenda of Black nationalism.

And I'm not gonna say that you're lost, you just have a perspective and view that I believe is out-dated and played. Upgrade to the new millenium, homey.

I understand your concern for Jesus being depicted in the movie as a white man which he was not, but to just discount the testimony that this movie was because of this racial discrepancy is to submerge your in a world too concerned with race and not concerned enough with spirit. You see this movie because, if you're a man of God, you try and submerge yourself in the faith as much as possible. Besides the whole white Jesus thing, which I'm not cool with but look past because God sees no color, this movie was pretty accurate in detailing the ordeal that Jesus went through to rid the world of sin. He wasn't depicted as a punk, this is what happened. Read your or their Bible. It was his will, why would he fight back? People try an incorporate earthly male machismo into being a man of God. Prolly shouldn't do that.

How many other people have turned around the lives of thousands of people in the "inner city" who in the eyes of many were better off dead? If you really want to look at fairy tales look at all the religions stemming from Judaism. His mission was to help Black people, I'm sure he could have cared less what some asshole fundamentalist would think. Prophets are born everyday, fuck what a book say.

Name the people from 1950-1970 who helped more people than Elijah Muhammad, that is central. Sure there was a bunch of craziness, still is, no more than in the Christian Church (curse of ham, whte messiah, blind faith, etc). But who turned around more lives of people who were considered the wretched of the earth. He didn't do too bad for a "crazy man". Even Malcolm gave him his props where they were due, even though he had fundamental issues with him. Quite BS'n yourself.

I saw the passion. I thought it was a good movie, the fact that they portrayed Jesus as a white man was a minor issue. Those of us who know Jesus is an original man must take the responsibility and teach that to our children and other individuals. Mel Gibson is a white man of course he is going to have a white Jesus. At anyrate the movie was more about sacrificing ones self for the world. Would you be willing to do that? Think about it. This Jesus is black issue in my eyesight is dead we need to perpetuate a strong representation of what it means to be an upostanding man in society regardless if he be black or white.

I'm new to the board, living and laboring in NYC. However, I am a bit dissapointed this is the way I will usher myself in but it is a topic I feel strongly about. Creative license notwithstanding, whether Jesus was portrayed as being white, black, purple or green he was persecuted for his beliefs, physically and mentally. It is because of his pain and suffering that we are here today and we were supposed to take from the movie the context of the message not the content of Mel Gibson's creative license. The message remains the same, he died for our sins. Is it supposed to be different if he was portrayed as a black man? He would still have been persecuted and beaten.

I hear what you saying...but the last 12 hours that were
portrayed in the movie are biblically accurate with the

would have been better if they showed more of Christ after the

The movie coincides with the Bible, the color of the players in
the movie shouldn't matter. Why? Because it's just a movie, a

Ahhh, how NAIVE can one be? If this movie were made with a Black Jesus, it would not be getting all of this praise, attention, and critical acclaim. As a matter of fact, it would not have made it to the big screen cinema venue; it would have been one of those direct to home video productions, like Master P's "Bout It, Bout It".

It seems that when creative cinematographic license is used to portray powerful "historical" events and people, it's okay, and it really shouldn't matter only if it is a white person replacing a Black (or non-white) historical figure.

Why? Because it's just a movie,
>a
>depiction of an actual event.

Noone said it had to be
>historically accurate,

The above speaks VOLUMES!!!! What's the point of making a historical movie, if it doesn't have to be historically accurate? And if it is reported and portrayed as being historically accurate, but then it isn't, what is it, actually? It is ACTUALLY Lies, Propaganda, a Fairy-tale story.

just as long as it followed the
>events
>that are written in the Holy Bible.

If it followed the Holy Bible (KJV), most Christians professed Holy book manual, it would have had a Black man playing Jesus. Why do I say that? Proof, you ask? Check out: Revelations: Chap. 1, verse 15 and Daniels Chap. 7, verse 9.

Holla back, after that.

Actually, my The Passion conspiracy theory is that this movie was done by George W. Bush and company. Mel Gibson is a known political supporter of the Republican party. Is it any surprise that this movie comes out that arouses the Christian right strengthening their Christian rightist identity, same-sex debates come out of thin air and onto the front pages of all newspapers, and a Laci Peterson abortion bill gets major news all of a sudden after Bush signed it?

All of this is to strengthen Republican commitment to the Christian right and vice versa, and to arouse the collective identity of the Christian right just in time for the 2004 election.

But again, that's just my theory.

And Jewish = hebrew and hebrew people were small tribes who migrated and assimilated into any society they were in perfect example Joesph in KMT. The only reason why Jewish is synomous with white today is because it is believed the largest Hebrew tribe Judah migrated in eastern europe. This is why Stein, berg and other eastern european/ russian names are considered jewish.

you are wrong. the reason jews are considered white today is a BAMBOOZLE. The original Jews are Ethiopian. They say judaism is the original monotheistic religion but both animism and hinduism are monotheistic religions whites dont understand. White Jews (Hebrews never say Jews)

http://philtar.ucsm.ac.uk/encyclopedia/judaism/falash.html

peep how far back the "falashas" go. How they dont celebrate the late trends in "judaism".

Eastern european names are accepted as jewish names because they are eastern europeans. im willing to bet 95% have no semitic blood whatsoever. They descend from Khazars. A turkish tribe that converted to judaism in 740 C.E. Read the 13th tribe...by the way. You CANT BUY IT IN MANY STORES (owned by JEWS) even though it is published by RANDOM HOUSE. GO FIGURE. Yes the Khazars were their names, and the elite/rulers were Hebrews. I never said a majority of eastern europeans were Hebrew, however you did have a migration into eastern europe. You are totally right.

Wasn't the man that helped Jesus carry the cross (Simon, I think, was his name) a black man...........?

Just to back up a little, when you fill out any kind of form asking for race, white is defined as someone of European, North African, or Middle Eastern descent. Now, if the government defines Middle Eastern as white, then it's like a roundabout way of saying that Jesus, being of that region, is white.

Second, like in the Boondocks a few days ago, I agree that it's almost laughable that Mel went through the trouble of keeping the languages and methods of torture and crucifixion as historically correct as possible but throws in Jim Cavaziel as Jesus. It's a slap in the face when the bible clearly says that he had hair like wool and skin like brass.

A lot of you say or think that it doesn't matter what color he's portrayed, but it's the equivilant of showing a depiction of Muhammad to Muslims in a movie. It's an abomination to who he is, also to his teachings by not focusing on why Jesus went out like that. Two hours highlighting the suffering and death (of a white man, which moves the majority of Christians more since that image has been beaten into our heads), which in itself is an important lesson, but almost ignoring or only giving a few minutes at a time to his life (and some scenes being straight up fiction) goes against the point of Christianity.

In Christianity, we are taught to be "Christ-like" in the way that he *lived*. How can one gain any kind of understanding or want to know more about Jesus if we start at the end of his life? Jesus was not only a spiritual leader, but a political one as well, and the latter is the reason for his death. Jesus did not agree with how cleric ran the temples and how classism ruled the masses. But, this is an election year and we are in a war that the people didn't want to begin with (until we were lied to about WMDs). Like one response said, Mel is a Bush supporter. Why not create a movie that will humble the people and create an atmosphere where we should, in wanting to be Christlike, accept the suffering and death of Jesus for our sins instead of teaching the fight and quest for knowledge in him throughout his life? Do people think Jesus would agree with war against Iraq or the passivity we possess in dealing with the government?

And realistically, Hollywood will never depict the truth---that he was a man of color who opposed the popular government and religious leaders and their incorrect teachings and behavior.

I walked away from that movie mad at what wasn't shown and knowing that I should've known better than pay money to see it in the first place. Some of my money is in that overwhelming profit that Mel Gibson has made, and I wish it wasn't because it wasn't worth it. It's good that it brings up more discussion within Christianity, but it's a tragedy that there is even more confusion as a result.

you can't control your emotions enough to see the actual point of the movie. If you believe that this move has son political passive psychodramatic connotation to lull black people in to a mindset of passivity. Then you’re really messed up.

Brodizzle. Think. Use some critical thinking here, beyond black and white. See cause the enemy focuses on more than one dimension of a thing or cause. You are being very transparent in your thinking. Like i said too emotional.

Heck, you might as well believe in the fight for reparations and 40 aches and a mule too. Cause that is not gonna happen.

Sisdizzle would be more appropiate.

Secondly, I'm not saying that "The Man" put this movie out to suppress upliftment in the black community. I think it was put out to suppress understanding of true Christianity for all Americans. Being it was endorsed by the Pope saying that "it is as it was" doesn't help either.

Jacking up the actual image of Christ was to 1)make white people more comfortable, 2)make us more accepting of suffering and torture as a means to knowledge and spritual advancement rather than confronting problems within religion and politics then and now, and 3) to focus on the death rather than the life that we are supposed to emulate.

And how am I being too emotional? Are you saying my opinion lacks logic, and if so, explain how?

This movie was not about focusing on the Death. It was about the Resurrection.. It was about the sacrifice and love.

Now, if you thing black people suffered form this movie, then you have never been touched buy the holy spirit.

As for the Pope. Ha!, However, the Pope knows Jesus was black. he see a sculpture everyday of a black Jesus in the Vatican. His statement was centered on the torture and subject matter of the scriptures, because people were saying Mel went to far and exaggerated.

See beyond the hate please..

In response to Reply # 80

it have focused on that more. We would have seen the Marys outside the tomb, Jesus revealing himself to the disciples, and his ascent into heaven, none of which was shown.

I don't think black people are suffering from this movie, but rather misguided. Suffering and sacrifice are a part of the Christian belief, not the basis for it. If that was the case, Jesus would not have healed the sick and stood up for Mary Magdalene when she was about to be stoned. Standing for what is right, having a relationship with God, and using Jesus's life as an example for ours is the point.

Have I missed that, bruh?

not the whole life of Jesus. The MOVIE was about the resurrection that was preceded by the ultimate sacrifice or have you missed that point. The fact that he got up will all power.

Hey.. I feel you but I still think your reading too much into the surface issues.

In fact, if you feel that strongly about it. Why don’t you write your own book or script? Or get self published and enlighten all us misguided folks.

You said I was seeing it from an emotional perspective and failed to explain how I was being emotional.

Then you get all willy-nilly with the sarcasm to cover your lack of an actual response to what I have to say.

I respect that you have your own opinion of the subject matter, whatever that may be because it's still pretty foggy. But it is what it is and I'm just going to agree to disagree with you.

White Amerikka won't pay six dollars to see a black man tortured to death by an evil oppressive state, when they can go home and watch "cops" for free.

Its funny how many black christians str8 up tapdance about the fact that american christianity is inherently racist and sexist as all hell. OH well, Creflo Dollar ain't gonna front on anything that might fuck up the money.
