"Know Thy Self"

A person who knows not
And knows that they know not
Is foolish- disregard them

A person who knows not
And knows that they know not
Is simple- teach them

A person who knows not
And believes that they know
Is dangerous- avoid them

A person who knows
And knows not that they know
Is asleep- wake them

A person who knows
and knows that they know
Is wise- follow them

All of these persons reside in you
Know Thy Self
And to Maat be true

*a modern adaptation of an ancient proverb, taken from the book "Nile Valley Contributions To Civilization" by Anthony T. Browder

Isn't the first one supposed to be someone who knows not and knows NOT that they know not?

Is this a tongue twister?

Peace.

If nothing else, at least psychoanalysis provides me with an intelligent, educated interlocutor, especially in these times of mediocre ambitions and pretentious ignoramuses. An era when intelligence is muffled and lifeless, like a limp prick, because the vast majority (we live under the dictatorship of the Vast Majority) live and die without ever using it.

who TRIED to explain this to me from her wise position and whose words fell on deaf arrogant ears. Looks like the ancestors had to intervene and show me you were right and on point.

That's okay Brethren. Even when you "plug your ears", I know your subconcious is listening INTENTLY. That's why I keep pounding it on you. Then I'll hear my words(as revealed to me by the Ancestors) come out of YOUR mouth, and my suspicions are confirmed. Mission accomplished. That's how this thing is supposed to work. So, I'm pleased!

peace.

message passed down from afrikan traditions...

i'm thinking if the axioms were adhered to more, there'd be a lot less vexed arguments/debate/discussion going on.

The thing about opinions is that we are all sure that ours is the best. One way to say "My opinion is the best opinion" is to say "My opinion is not in fact an opinion -- it's the TRUTH!" But that's a side issue.

The whole Activist board is about stating opinions, backing them up with experience and illustration, and listening to others do the same.

There are of course many ways in which this can be done. It can be respectful or it can be cantankerous.

I have long been a proponent of the respectful side, but you notice that I don't come to Activist as much as I used to, and that is in part because the cantankerous side was taking prominence. And, yeah, you know, I lose my temper here and there, as you are well aware.

But to say, "This is the truth" instead of "This is what I think" indicates (I think) an unwillingness to hear anyone else's experience or opinion. Even those who are your ELDERS (nudge, nudge) and who may know better because of greater experience (note that I say "may").

Peace.

in studying hieroglyphs and reading them, my whole concept of ancient KMT is being challenged. one reason why "ways of knowing" and "establishing parameters" is becoming important when speaking with others. some systems are better than others and those are waht i search for, then the information axchange can flow better.

This has been my #1 signature on these boards for a long time. People believe what they want to believe and hear what they want to hear. True growth and inspiration happen within (not in a group) and being able to understand one's purpose and live life with intention to acheive that purpose takes real courage and strength.

>A person who knows not
>And knows that they know not

>
>A person who knows not

>Is simple- teach them

You can show others the way through guidance and by example but they must take the leap and be willing to break negative agreements in order to find their purpose.

>A person who knows not
>And believes that they know
>Is dangerous- avoid them
>
>A person who knows
>And knows not that they know
>
>Is asleep- wake them

There will always be people around who just by their fear will attempt to sabotage someone who is trying to initiate positive change. There are people who live on assumptions and misunderstandings and ego but we have no reason to fear them. If one is mindful or present and living life intently then these so-called dangerous people have no influence.

>A person who knows
>and knows that they know
>Is wise- follow them
>

Follow them or follow one's self or purpose. Every individual has a purpose on this planet and it is up to each person to break society's agreement, if necessary, in order to fulfill that purpose or vision.

"Know thyself"

"Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you or forsake you". So we may boldly say, "The Lord is my helper, I will not fear. What can man do to me?"
-- Hebrews 13:5,6

"There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path"
--Morpheus in "The Matrix"

"It's our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities"- Dumbledore to Harry Potter "Chamber of Secrets"

i think i might just show others by example and letting them observe me, then if they step into the realm, dispense the truth i've found...

guiding others gets exhausting...

If your Light shines brightly enough, folk will be drawn to it, so they can bask in it. There won't be any need to shove stuff down anyone's throat. They'll want to be on what YOU are on. Once they ask, show them. If they can't handle it, don't judge. Just let them be.
