Yeah, but he also has Jeff Backus, Stephen Peterman, Dominic Raiola, Maurice Morris, Keiland Williams...

I'm just really surprised that there are Lions fans who AREN'T as optimistic about Stafford as I am. He played what, 12 games his first two seasons? And most of those were with the same core roster that went 0-16.
What we're seeing now is his first "real" season as far as I'm concerned, and he's lighting it up. He absolutely laid an egg against Chicago, sure, and played poorly against SF for the most part, but he's also led some crazy second half comebacks, made some throws most NFL QBs couldn't even dream of, and shown more command of the offense than any Lions QB I've ever seen. He's done all this with virtually zero running game, too--how many NFL offenses have success after losing their top 2 RBs for the season?
Look, I've been a Lions fan since I was like 6 years old, so I understand pessimism. I made CASH in 2008, because around late October I bet anyone who'd take the action that they were going 0-16. But the fact is, we haven't seen QB play at this level in my lifetime. And unless you watched Bobby Layne, neither have you. So this right here? This shit is the fun part. Have a little Kool-Aid.
