"Reggie Bush will finish with a better career than Adrian Peterson"

I was right.

he got a ring. now, he gonna finish with better career stats. he was way better tha AP this year BEFORE the injuries. reggie just better and more versatile.

Now, I need Nash to teach Telfair some shit, so I can claim that W too.

my agendas be on dat vorhees.

dogg, I KNOW...and it counts! i used to not take injury loopholes, but when niggas wanna pretend daunte culpepper was ALWAYS a scrub before his knee exploded and that the holy trinity of duke PGs were ALWAYS scrubs before a knee explosion (dawkins...even though he was still good after, but not the same) and two near fatal accidents (j-will and hurley)...dogg, i had to make a make 'em mad adjustment.

reggie bush is better than that fumbler. it counts.

He just wasn't consistent. He'd follow up a great game (trip dub against j Kidd) w/ a 6 pt 3 assist shit. Had a tough time adapting to the triangle plus Bill didn't fuck w/ him. And we see how great of a coach he's become. But whatever, you'll still say he sucked.

We can't revise history just cuz he was a great, not good, great college player. He stunk his first year.

You can write down a list of excuses why he stunk. But the fact still remains he stunk.

..only found his dealings with Kardashian at the end of the fling as lolsome.

But Culpepper was a QB who wasn't gonna get hit nearly as much as a RB who will get tackled on just about every play he carries the ball. A couple other more related names that comes to mind with this is Jamal Anderson & Terrell Davis whose dope careers also came to a similar catastrophic early end.

but, then i thought about it...nah, young. these niggas were ASSHOLES about reggie bush for YEARS. so, i decided to treat them like dogs who don't know where and when to shit...i'm rubbing their noses in it, spanking their asses and sending them on their way.

this shit isn't my fault. i feel bad for AP, not for his fans that made fun of other niggas gettin hurt. these niggas know who they are.

Dude...Those niggas were classes too...Anyone who makes such posts are not even interested in talking sports...And given that I know you are a hardcore sports head, I'm a bit shocked that you went this route..

Peterson was on his way to the Hall of Fame, my dude. Reggie was not...I love the fact that Reggie has made a comeback. But let's not act like he was duplicating the hype he came in with after his explosive USC years....This season, it all came together for him. And i think that's cool...Dude making fools eat crow...

But Reggie was and never will be on the level of Peterson. And if you are doing the happy dance over one of the best RB's of his generation's knee exploding you wasn't much of an NFL fan to begin with.

And this is coming from a Bears fan, someone who despises all things Vikings...

Just dial it down, brother Basa....This ain't cool...

and niggas were HAPPY about that. if reggie stays healthy the next few years, i bet he'll be on his way to the HOF too. when that man s HEALTHY he's one of the NFLs best players. period.

nah, that's a cop out. these were well-respected posters shittin on reggie for gettin hurt. serious sports fans.

>Peterson was on his way to the Hall of Fame, my dude. Reggie
>was not...I love the fact that Reggie has made a comeback. But

he was hurt. AP was healthy. simple as that.

>generation's knee exploding you wasn't much of an NFL fan to

reggie bush has always been a superior talent than adrian peterson and it's too bad he's never been healthy enough to show it.

i wouldn't say i'm "happy" AP is fucked up...but, i can't help but be intrigued with the karmic comedy of this. it really has nothing to do with AP. this is about niggas who shit on one guy for injuries now being in the position of defending their guy against invalid attacks. AP can't help that he got hurt, just like reggie couldn't. but, them dudes AIN'T CARE. now, maybe they'll get it.

>Just dial it down, brother Basa....This ain't cool...

hasn't been cool for about 5 years, so i don't see why using injuries to judge a player's production against another's is now off limits. for AP? seriously? he ain't the first dude with HOF talent to get hurt.

It doesn't matter how you slice it Basa...U talking about a dude (Peterson) who was set to take his place next to the great RB's of all time...Someone who was being compared to (in terms of output and impact) Dickerson, Campbell, Sanders and the like...He was CARRYING his franchise....

At best Reggie was a dude that is finally putting it all together...Someone who was viewed as injury prone has finally silenced his doubters, and that's a great story...

But he's not and never will be on Peterson's level...This is not worthy of a debate...My issue here is you celebrating a man's knee exploding as a launching point to big up another player who is not even in the same weight class...

No matter how you spin it, it's fucked up....And it's even more fucked up that your answer is: "Other niggas did it to Bush"...

Come on, dog...

i think shitting on a player for being injured is bitchmade. over the years, i've tried to call niggas out for it to no avail. these two players, reggie bush and adrian peterson, are the perfect case studies in bitchmadeness.

it was "okay" to actively shit on an injured reggie or not say shit to niggas who shit on reggie for YEARS.

you would think it's okay to shit on ANY running back for being injured.

but, wait...OKS favorite adrian peterson get cut down.

now, it's not "okay" shit on an NFL running back for being injured. anyone who does this is a "ho"

yeah.

this ain't about him, really. this is about how bitchmade it is to take serious injuries and use them as part of the narrative when comparing players. OKS has shit on reggie bush every time he got injured, often ridiculing him for his perceived lack of toughness. niggas used his injuries to elevate muhfuckas who are CLEARLY not better than him (you know the players) and niggas felt comfortable just sayig they are because they knew reggie was too frequently hurt to prove otherwise

so, i hope y'all had fun--and Y'ALL know who you are--because it seems like it's reggie's turn to be healthy and show the world what he can do.

Dude...It wasn't 1 injury...It was a myriad of injuries...Bush became injury prone at certain points...That's two different things...

Which is why this season is so cool to see Bush kill it. But the two (Peterson/Bush) have NOTHING to do with each other...

All said, I'm glad Bush is doing his thing...But let's keep it all in perspective...

so it's okay to "celebrate" injuries to a player, so long as they occur frequently?

murph,i ain't make this thread to be an asshole. i made it because i saw other dudes better assholes for YEARS and not being called out for it.

partying off reggie bush being injured was the NORM on this board. the NORM. don't even deny it, dogg.

so, AP if off limits, right?

just fuckin FACE it...a lot of posters here party off injuries. i think it's wrong. AP is the PERFECT case study to expose this bitchmade ass behavior.

i'mma talk about it. it's what i do.

The difference is, in football people call u soft when you can't stay on the field...And that was the issue with Bush---INJURIES. Plural...

But when you suffer a SERIOUS career-ending like injury like Peterson did, that's nothing to make light of...At all.

And it's all moot anyway, because they shouldn't even be in the same sentence skill wise, impact wise, talent wise, star wise ect...One guy was on the bench for a twisted ankles and such...The other guy was on the bench hurt because he was getting his ankle bent back carrying the ball a ridiculous amount of times a game....

Just bow out gracefully on this one, Basa...It's not worth it...

Dog...before Reggie broke his leg, it was one thing after another with dude...They were calling him soft way before that because he was a nick nack injury dude...

But like I said, I'm glad dude is making niggas eat crow...I'm just not going to give dude his props at the expense of a Hall of Fame worthy player who may never play again...

Well, considering I've never made fun of Bush being injured, and considering I've never made a post bigging up a players good year at the expense of GREAT player getting his knee destroyed, I feel that I'm on the right side here...

BTW...this is football Basa...Not basketball. If you can't stay on the field beyond having a shitty offensive line (this wasn't the case for Bush...N.O. had a good O line) then you get the soft moniker. Of course calling a player soft (as most NFL analyst and commentators have done) is totally different than making a post that seemingly (and maybe inadvertently...I'm trying to give u more credit, Basa) shits on a great critically-injured player to prove some strange, weird point...

Nah...it's apples and oranges...Calling a player soft (Bush) because he couldn't stay on the field vs. making a post about a guy who always played with injuries (Peterson) and finally blew out his knee is night and day...Which is why Bush's great year is a cool story. Because he FINALLY showed he can play an entire season again...

Reggie Bush's so called "minor, nick-nack injuries:"

2007 - partially torn posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee

2008 - torn meniscus in his left knee

2008 - sprained MCL in his left knee

2010 - broken left leg

Please just stfu up with this soft shit. Bush had some AWFUL luck with injuries. Its football and he's a running back. This shit happens to ALL of em.

That's a lot of injuries...A lot of time on the bench (along with those nick nacks)....And for the record, me, Keith Murphy, born and raised in Chicago, has never said he was soft. But most NFL analysts have said thst about Bush (fairly or unfairly)...

Bottom line, I'm not going to apologize for something I didn't say...My point is Peterson and Bush are not in the same weight/talent class...And that the initial post was distasteful (even though basa has since made it known that he didn't know dude blew his knee out...)

That's all...

right, bush and peterson are not in the same class as talent

bush is more talented

PR
KR
receiver
running back.

AP does not commit match-up problems. bush does.

AP is a beast, but one dimensional, and cost his team a SB.

Peterson's one dimensional play has been more impactful than anything Bush could even dream of---It's been more important to his team, more fruitful, more immense and bigger...Even this year Peterson's stats are bigger than Bush's...And dude has not even played a full year...

I mean, u might as well say that Westbook, when he was playing for the Eagles, was better than Frank Gore because he could run and catch....It's a stupid, silly, tongue and cheek, classic OKP "hey, look at at meeeeee" Post...

And I will no longer dignify it...

My original issue was with Basa, which has been deaded...Not with this silliness you trying to sell...lol

not more than bush's ....Bush was one of the main reason's the saints went to the Super Bowl.

When teams faced the Saints, they only worried about one player and that was bush. Sean even said it, which is why it was important for the Saints to get a player similar to bush in return to cause those same match-up problems

Bush didn't even have to touch the ball, but due to the fact the he was out there, it was cause the strong saftey and LBs to fall out of position on the field...

And that was the knock on the Saints about using Bush, was that they were wasting him, because they were using him more as a decoy than anything else.

Teams do not think about AP like that ...not even close

But now that we know the main reason why Bush didn't really, really excel in NO, you know, it was a bad match ......That surface would have continued to kill him. ...It was like he was running in mud ..like he couldn't take off.

AP just gets stats

HE DOES NOT CHANGE THE GAME...

REGGIE changes the game and has made life easy as hell for Marshall.

REggie already has one ring, and he is going to get another one with the dolphins( if they play their cards right)..

I mean shit did you see the NE game?....The Dolphins are truly a 12-4 team, but fucked up earlier in the season ...they are a really, really good football team....

Shit dolphins could get a chip in the next two years or so.....

Reggie, immediately, had a BIG IMPACT on the dolphins....AP Would never be able to do that.

Stah...part of the issue with Bush is he wasn't a dependable player because he didn't stay on the field. He did this season and should be given props for that...

But no one will and ever has placed him in the same category as Peterson...Except guys like you who seem more interested in saying some provocative shit...

I get it...This is your bag...This is Basa's bag. This is what you guys do. But at least Basa was coming from a stand point of people unfairly shitting on Bush for his injuries...And at least Basa said that he did so NOT KNOWING the severity of Peterson's potentially CAREER ENDING INJURY...

I think you need to show more perspective and common sense. One guy is finally putting it together. The other guy was the best back in the league and may never step on the field again..

Too soon homie...Too soon...

No one on this board came out and supported Bush..I have supported bush from the beginning. period.

And you need to become less sensitive, because we are talking about football and stats, regardless of injury .period

I said nothing about the man's injury ...and that is not my concern. period.

I am talking play and play only. ...When Bush got fucked up... Everbody shitted on him, and you just shitted on him about not being on the field because of his injury ...Dude had some serious, serious ass injuries.

Did anybody have respect for Bush when he was playing on a field that was KILLING his body, which limited his play?

naw, they didn't ..Dude could have fucked up his career

So spare me the" Saving Private Ryan" speech that you are trying to spew to side step facts.

It's classless.

I said nothing about the man's injury, and the man's injury has nothing to with this conversation......

Reggie Bush is a more dynamic running back and better playmaker than AP ...AP has blown games, and he fumbled a superbowl chance.

AP is a beast of a runner, and he is one of the greatest .....However, to me, Reggie is the better all around back and provides a greater impact on the game of football.

Basa...Quit dog...just quit it...U honestly can say with a straight face that it's cool to equate a dude that had been injured 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 times in his career vs. a guy that had never had serious injury issues, was being called the best back in the league and has just suffered a potential career ending injury?

Nobody ever said Bush would not be stepping on the field again after his injuries....

But people are saying that about Peterson...

See the difference?

I'm going to stop u there...Who cares? Bush was always looked as a dude that was not durable. He had a good season. He shut his critics up this year...The best you could say is you supported him when everyone else doubted him. But don't act like there wasn't a viable reason for people to doubt Bush...Don't act like he had a GREAT season. The triumph for dude is he lasted for an entire season.

So bravo. U stuck it out with him. That's good.

But this has nothing to do with Peterson, who may never play again...Nothing at all...

I get that this whole thing is tailor made for you two..It makes sense...

This is the provocative song and dance you guys do...But doing a touch down dance about a good career-INJURY-riddled player being better (in the future?) after the best running back in football goes down for what many say is for good is suspect...And I'm being respectful here...

But I'm not surprised coming from you...lol...At all...

Funny thing is.

You always seem to see more than what is actually there...or being said.

Nah...Basa thought that the injury wasn't that serious...And noted that and even said had he had known he wouldn't had came at it that way...

The issue here is now the BOTH OF U talking about how a good back with an injury riddled career is going to be better than an All Pro Franchise back who may have to worry about walking with a cane...

something about maybe the sheer length of his legs or the way he plants (when he sticks one leg out to cut he looks like he's playing the hokey pokey), his legs look extra vulnerable a lot

his style mas made him a BEAST, and i'm not mad at it

but i can't even count the number of times i watched and was amazed he got out of that play with straight knees.

i'm amazed this dude doesn't have 2 shattered knees, 5 broken ribs, and a cracked disc in his neck at this point. he runs very upright a lot, and he's tall enough for it to be an extra problem. Bush runs upright a lot too, but he's a much smaller, lighter, and elusive target. And when Bush plants its usually like a quick flicker. When Peterson plants, it seems like the image freezes for a moment.

you're right about Willis though...its not necessarily over for Peterson.

Reggie 3rd?

I'll give him top 10 right now but he's not ahead of Rice or Foster. Rice isn't inconsistent. It's the Ravens playcalling that's inconsistent. This is Rice's 3rd year of being one of the most complete backs in the league.

Foster has shown he's the real deal this season...even with the early injury he's ahead of Bush in yds. He's nice catching the ball out of the backfield too.

Again...u guys need to cut this shit out...lol

Bush was injured a myriad of times. Was on the bench a myriad of times. Was hurt a myriad of times...Which gave people an opening to question (whether right or wrong...) that a guy that was looked at as a franchise back coming out of USC could be an every down back...That's not disrespectful...That's not wrong....that's just football. Show and prove. And for this one season, Bush has silenced his critics. I'm happy for dude...

Now let's look at Peterson...Dude just blew out his knee. Which is the worst thing that can happen to a RB. It's career ending. It's worst than a broken leg. Worst than a ACL sprain. Worst than a torn tendon...Worst than all that shit...And before that? Peterson had mainly been a dude that played with injuries. It's a miracle that a guy that was looked at as the best running back in the league during his time on the field and a player who ran in a physically grueling style has managed to stay healthy this long...Shit is incredible...

Bottom line: Peterson was always the best and important player on his team. Bush was always just an important piece of the puzzle. But just that: a piece...

Given that we will never see Peterson play again, I think we should understand what greatness is. Understand that we just loss a top flight RB who was going to go down as one of the best of all time....And again, this is coming from a Bears fan...I have no use for the Vikings...But I'm being real...

Bush will no doubt have a good career even he can cut down on his injuries. But this whole Bush/Peterson thing should not be a real discussion, unless folks just want to kick up some dust and start a OKP style "nigga what???" debate...

Let's just keep the usual suspects who seem to just want to kick up some dust because that's what they've become known for on these boards (hey, it is entertaining...but come on...lol) in perspective...

GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

this post is about Bags being right about Bush in the long term

as far as Bush being injury prone and all that
ppl were calling him soft even BEFORE he played a NFL game.
in training camp the whole debate on here was whether or not he could be a premier every down back
it's an indirect way of questioning his health (when dude wasn't even hurt mind you)

than Bo Jackson...and so did Shaun Alexander

but which of the three backs are still talked abt to this day? Who was the best back of the 3?

Reggie is JUST NOW showing signs of being an every down RB and although he was always good at other facets of the game, he has NEVER been the best player on any team he's been on, just a cog in the wheel (or some might say even a liability)

but AP has been the best player for the Vikings and the BEST RB IN THE LEAGUE (or at least #2) ever since he's been in the NFL w/the exception of the season the Vikings had Brett Favre...

So yeah, considering the potentially career ending injury Petersen suffered yesteray, it's quite possible that Bush could end up w/a better career and better numbers...just know that it'll be by default because the entire football world knows who the better running back is/was (and that includes college)

Not if reggie's second half career blows AP's out of the water...

I love AP, and he a beast runner.....but there is still time for reggie
to leap over his career

Reggie has less wear and tear on his body, even though he is 26. His body is really 24 because he missed so many games.

Vikes should have put AP on the shelf. He wasn't even 100 percent before the game.

Taken from post #50:

Reggie Bush's so called "minor, nick-nack injuries:"

2007 - partially torn posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee

2008 - torn meniscus in his left knee

2008 - sprained MCL in his left knee

2010 - broken left leg

Now tell me how this means he has less wear and tear on his body? He missed so many games because his knees and legs were literally worn and torn.

He does not have wear and tear from hits and tackles.

His injuries were caused from playing on a surface that wasn't conducive for

He plays in the Metrodome with a similar if not identical playing surface as the Superdome. Every surface is conducive to AP's body type...whatever that means.

Do you know how hard artificial turf is??

I played soccer on that shit with no pads...and my body hurt for days...
You feel it in you joints and bones. ..Now imagine running on that shit every week in pads!...FOH...Learn Body Science.

I only play on grass

The human body is not fucking built for artificial turf....That is why there were very few knee injuries back in the day. Players played on grass.

You would think that Jim Brown would have been hurt at least once, or would have sustained some horrific knee injuries, especially based on his hard running style, but he didn't. ...Grass.

once artificial turf was introduce, leg and knee injuries inclined...But the league is dumb, it does not care about the player's health.

Bush is a natural runner, meaning that he is swift and has great body mechanics. That is why he is compared to Gale Sayers. ..That natural style needs to play on a natural surface.

Imagine Devin Hester playing on that shit every week with the way that he cuts and runs......Dude wouldn't last 4 weeks on that shit if he played on it every week.

No shit, but they were less frequent back in the day ..and I believe his injury occurred from a hit. ..Plus I was talking about comparisons,as far as running styles go

My point is everybody is not meant to play on fucking turf...

Good for fucking AP, but everybody does not have the same type of body that AP has..now do they? ...And I specifically said bush's body type.

The bottom line is, and I couldn't give a fuck about AP playing on turf, bush is injury prone on turf. ....and he is not injury prone on grass..period. That means that his body does respond well to turf, and it is the reason why he didn't perform well in NO....it had shit to do with him being a bust.

aint't shit else to see here.

Now you're changing it to not everybody is meant to play on turf?

Or are you saying AP is more than human? A cyborg maybe?

>Do you know how hard artificial turf is??

I know they used to compare the old artificial turf to playing
on a parking lot but they use a new and improved surface that
is much easier on the athletes and more comparable to natural
grass.

>I played soccer on that shit with no pads...and my body
hurt
>for days...
>You feel it in you joints and bones. ..Now imagining
running
>on that shit every week in pads!...FOH...Learn Body
Science.

How long ago was this and was the surface at all like the
surfaces used in NFL stadiums?

Again I was just pointing out that AP has played home games at
the Metrodome, considered one of the worst artificial playing
surfaces, while Reggie was playing at the Superdome. AP has
overcome this hindrance why couldn't Reggie?

>I only play on grass

We're happy for you.

>The human body is not fucking built for artificial
>turf....That is why there were very few knee injuries back
in
>the day. Players played on grass.

Again what applies to one should apply to the other.

AP's knee was hurt playing on a grass surface. It was the
hit, however, that caused the injury not the grass. Does it
mean his body type is not conducive to grass because the
injury happened on a grass surface.

>You would think that Jim Brown would have been hurt at
least
>once, or would have sustained some horrific knee injuries,
>especially based on his hard running style, but he didn't.
>...Grass.
>
>once artificial turf was introduce, leg and knee injuries
>inclined...But the league is dumb, it does not care about
the
>player's health.
>
>Bush is a natural runner, meaning that he is swift and has
>great body mechanics. That is why he is compared to Gale
>Sayers. ..That natural style needs to play on a natural
>surface.

How would you describe AP? Is he not a natural runner? What
does that mean?

>Imagine Devin Hester playing on that shit every week with
the
>way that he cuts and runs......Dude wouldn't last 4 weeks
on
>that shit if he played on it every week.

Have you actually ever watched AP? Have you not seen the way
he cuts and runs? Go ahead and youtube the highlights of the
game he broke the single game record for rushing yds.

i sincerely do feel bad for AP and i really did not know he tore his shit up before i made this post. i was just predicting that it's now AP's turn to be burndened by injuries and reggie to be injury-free.

i've always called AP "George Rogers 2.0" and i stood by it.

Reggie was always a beast. He was just playing on the wrong surface.....He is not a turf runner. His body is not built for it, which is why the injuries piled on.

On Grass, the dude is a beast.

As soon as he got on grass, it was over ....Tony Soprano knew it. Mad props to that dude for strongly going after bush.....He pushed that shit to happen

i've never heard anyone even try to put these two in the same sentence. this is some SPM "mark jackson was better than zeke" type shock posting Ba.

AP is arguably the best back in football.

Reggie is arguably a bust and was the 3rd best RB on his own team in New Orleans. he aint even better than Darren Sproles, let alone AP lol.

many people in the past (myself included) have watched AP in awe but predicted out loud that he probably won't last long.

same concern many people have about Vick, and probably should have about Tebow. All 3 of those players I love btw, but its a relevant factor when judging someone's game and what they bring to the table.

that has to play into the comparison: does said player stay good

Reggie Bush will probably stay good for longer.

Does it make him better? Debatable, but this is part of the equation.

Instead of injuries, can we talk about how Reggie Bush has finally learned how to run instead of strictly relying on his speed? Good for him.

That AP shit hurt my soul.

"Bad Feets" McFadden is the best back in the league when healthy. The reason he isn't healthy is b/c of those piece of shit Nike shoes he plays in.

I read "hoish" as similar sounding to "moist". Thought it was some new slang saying someone had a vagina. Got it now. "Ho" then "ish".

considering it has usually taken him 2 seasons combined for him to gain 1100 yards on the ground.

I'm quite relieved after hearing today's news that AP's injury is similar to Wes Welker's from a few years back. Welker has bounced back nicely and is once again one of the most productive wideouts in the game.

It wouldn't be surprising to see AP outperform Bush as soon as next year...as he has done every year he's been in the league.

My biggest worry is he comes back and is no better than Reggie Bush.

I don't know what to say here. I mean what the fuck are the dolphins thinking? Tannehill had that one big game and the coaching staff lost their fucking minds.

every play has been pass, pass, pass

Bush had like 4 carries for 20 something yards. That's like 5 yards a carry, wtf??

If he is given 20+ carries, he will get 100 yards.

This is a L for me by default....I can't control it.

Didn't expect peterson to turn into Ben Grimm after the knee injury.

hey, man...i thought it was gonna work out.
