Yeah but up until like 2006 Kobe was the same way man...it takes time. One could aruge it took MJ until 27 or so to get there too.
>Howard is not a low post threat in terms of his offensive >ability...he basically has none at all. thats why he doesn't >get the ball alot in the 4th quarter. > >he basically rebounds, block shots, and dunks. > >not exactly Tim Duncan, Olajawon, Ewing, David Robinson or >Shaq.
Yeah but he's still greater than anything in the middle of those Tor and Mil teams you named. When you have the caliber of shooter that Orl had and have to defend that, it's a given that a 6'11" dunker is gonna beast cuz you can't double him without penalty. Not to mention that if the perimeter players ran the 3pt shooters off the 3, no one was in the lane to intimidate (which Iverson had).
>Shaq was the most dominant force in basketball since Jordan in >2001. Nobody was beating that Laker team. Mutumbo was past his >prime in 2001. He was drafted in 1991 at age 25.
11.7 pts, 12.4rbs, 2.5 blks in 26 games with philly (for the season it was like 10pts, 13rbs, 2.7blks). Those numbers are equal to or better than every season he had outside of his rookie yr. His prime ended two yrs later.
>nobody was beating LA the way Shaq was such a dominant force. >Plus, they had a closer in Kobe on the team. > >If any case could be made for the Kobe "haters" , it was that >year. I remember one game in the regular season when Kobe was >hurt/sick or whatever. And the Lakers played the Spurs (at San >Antonio). I think San Antonio had the better record at that >point. And the Lakers (Shaq) completely destroyed them w/o >Kobe. thats how dominant Shaq was that year. > >that 2000-2001 team was one of the better teams in the last 2 >decades to win a title. Mainly because how Shaq was so >dominant, and then you had Kobe on that same squad.
You add Ray Allen to that philly team (a guy who didn't need the ball in his hand and was a deadly jump shooter Iverson could pass to off of penetration) and I'd think they coulda at minimum take LA to 7 games. Philly didn't get destroyed per say in that series. The first 3 games were very close. With Ray Allen, I feel confident in saying Philly prolly coulda won. He really didn't have a second scorer on that team. Hell, Deke was his 2nd scoring leader that series.
>"everything in his power" is bullsh*t for him hogging the damn >ball, trying to do everything. his teammates couldn't make >shots because they weren't in a rhythm like they were in the >regular season, when everything is peaches and cream. When >they hit adversity, Lebron panicked and tried to be Scott >Skiles, Shaq, Penny,Pippen, and Jordan all at the same time. >And Mike Brown lets him do that because everybody in the >organization is scared sh*tless to say anything to Lebron or >"he'll go to New York". Thats another problem with Lebron. He >is a diva. thats the reason why the Bulls aint win sh*t with >Doug Collins (who is a good basketball coach). Collins was too >damn scared of Jordan to confront or challenge him. Phil >Jackson was not. It was the same thing in LA. Shaq became the >even more dominant force that he was when Phil came aboard, >because Phil would challenge him and wasn't afraid to do so. >the whole entire Cavs organization is afraid to make Lebron >mad. Therefore, Lebron has no accountability. Thats why he can >walk off the court when he loses, not hold a press conference, >and barely says anything to his teammates after the Orlando >series. And nobody says anything. Not even David stern until >after the fact and fines him pennies.
I agree about the Cavs org but I disagree about the shots. They weren't hitting shit that series. They were down 3-1 before anybody not named Bron started hitting. They got the same shots they got in the first two rounds. The difference was you had someone no shorter than 6'8" contesting them.
>Kobe aint give up. The C's were the better team. And they >defended the Lakers quite well. It was impressive. Kobe could >barely do anything, and his teammates couldn't anything at >all. The C's froze them out of their game totally.
If my defense of bron is a plea cop, this right here is a plea cop for kobe. This is like me saying that Orl simply figured out Clev's Defense (their strength) and Clev doesn't have the offensive firepower to beat them. In the end, Kobe gave up in game 6.
>He had plenty of enough help to beat Orlando. This aint the >C's from last year or the Pistons the Cavs beat on their way >to the NBA finals against the Spurs. Lebron was not mentally >tough enough to lead his team past an Orlando team that are >not world-beaters.
No he didn't and if you take Pau away from LA, they don't have enough to beat them either. I mean the team is in the finals and are a missed layup away from a 2-1 lead on LA. Don't bullshit like Orl is ass or something.
