After tallying the votes, Shawn walked away with a landslide victory to become the newest member of the fraternity known as the OkayBlowhards. We welcome his expertise to the league and look forward to taking his money. To everyone else that expressed interest, thanks for your application, they'll be reviewed the next time there is an open position.

Now to league business:

1. PAYMENT - So far I've gotten payments from smutsboy and Matinho. The rest of y'all need to catch up. The fee is $50, it can be paid by Paypal or snail mail (inbox me for my address, money orders only). THE DEADLINE FOR THE THE FEE TO BE PAID IS AUGUST 14TH AT 11:59PM EST. If you pay using Paypal, choose "personal" when making the payment to avoid the Paypal fee.

LAST, and this is VERY IMPORTANT, if you have not paid or made arrangements with me on a promise to pay by August 21st, you will be forfeiting your ownership in the league, and will be replaced by rob, who was 2nd place in voting.


2. DRAFT: Draft has been set up for Saturday, August 28th at 1:00pm. Time is tentative, if the league would like it earlier or later, there is a possibility it can be changed.

Draft order will be done in the order of last year's standings, dependent upon whether that owner has paid their fee by the deadline. Each owner will pick what draft position they would like. If you haven't paid by the deadline, you will be bumped to the end of the line and choose your spot after everyone else who has paid picks their draft position. Shawn, as the resident newbie will pick his spot after all spots have been chosen.

3. KEEPERS: The deadline for selecting your keepers is set for Monday, August 23rd. This is the Monday after the 2nd week of preseason games. If you can pick your keepers sooner, please let me know so I can update the draft roster and put them on your teams. Remember only players drafted in Round 6 or later are available as keepers. All the rosters are still available in the Yahoo archives. Post your keepers under the KEEPERS post, so I can keep track of them.


4. NEW SITE: If you didn't know already, we're trying out NFL.com this year to run the league. I set it up to be viewable by the public, so anyone can see whats going on the league, but can't post comments or make changes to teams. Here's the league site:

those last five or six games he was as good as any tight end. one less position I have to worry about drafting.

Bush is whatever. a cere-like option. I planned on having Mendenhall, but he was worth moving to get MJD last season.

by my reasoning, teams would outright tank the consolations so they can receive better draft picks. I don't think they should be rewarded for that.

This isnt really picking a spot is it? Im basically getting the last spot. You guys really try to make this hard for rookies, at least it isnt a league where you need to fill like 15 roster spots.
