I know most of them are probably only 5 feet tall but those dudes are always rocked up. I wonder if they even lift weights or is most of their strength gained from just training for their events.

at least not as a mainstay in their program. they do all sorts of progressions of bodyweight exercises. search youtube for planche, front lever and muscle up, those are a few of the strength building exercises they do

but you're right..
those are naturally some very little dudes...so if they started at an early age....agility shit....lifting and tossing their own body weight...over time, they are going to be pretty cut up...

they do some SERIOUS upper body strength stuff....young
i did it as a kid because i was small, nimble, explosive, could jump like a mofo and do all sorts of flips everywhere
BUT
by age 11, the upper body shit was just WAY too hard for me. shit felt like some sort of cruel torture. shit was SERIOUS. it was like they didn't even give a shit that i could flip all over the place. my back was in agony oftentimes.
i quit and signed up for pee-wee football instead (which felt like a breeze in comparison). even through high school football, i never ever experienced anything close to the all-out strength demands that were made of me as an 11 year old budding gymnast.
its especially difficult if you have a slightly shorter-limbs:longer-body ratio.
...oh, and yes they also had us lifting weights lol. 11 year olds....though it was only a small segment of the workout and the rest of the time was body-weight-related.
