There is no such thing as an ABSOLUTELY overpaid athlete. They should all get as much doe as possible from their owners.
There is, however, such a thing as a RELATIVELY overpaid athlete. If Miguel Cairo signs a four year, 67 million dollar contract this offseason, he will be OVERPAID RELATIVE to other second baseman of his caliber.
Admit that it makes sense.
My argument was that Edgar Renteria should get as much attention. After this season, the discrepancy between the two might be warranted....but we'll see...lets not write Renteria off for a mediocre season.
