DVS--Wishful Thinking. May sound typical, but I loved the song because there is this ideal of the way a relationship should/could be, but that perfect image is just wishful thinking. Still, it's also hope, which is what I got from this song. Window may be a rough cut, but some of us like it rough...needless to say, I liked it as is.
The Lorax--Strings4. The first words that some to mind is old-school lullaby. I wish I knew this cat, because I could really write some lyrics on that. I loved La La as well, and was mad that this track was short. Then I heard Ver 2 and he was forgiven.
Nicolay--Track 01. I'm dying to hear someone rhyme over this. It was reminiscent of Bobbi Humphrey to me. I decided to listent to Track 10, and how fitting, a sample of This Christmas. I don't blame him though...that's the shit year round. And he took it and put more stank on it.
Dr. Anonymous--out of the four, it was hard to tell which I liked best. Anonymous Intro sticks out in my mind, due to the storyline and the scratches. Reminds me a little of Del and Prince Paul. A World, I just felt in my heart, like the back and forth of the rhythm reflecting the conflict of "a world that's not for me".
Obsidian Blue--Obsidian Waltz. The first thing that comes to mind is it being inspired Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band's Organ Grider's Tale, but, dare I say, classier. There is a more jazz than disco swing element, which does just beautifully, and classically. But then I guess if it wasn't, it wouldn't be a waltz. Whatever You Say did lose me a little bit in the last verse. While I haven't heard the original, the remix is quite nice. Btw, loving the horn and xylophone on Affairs of the Heart.
Okay, this is my opinion of the above tracks, plus some makeup work from last month. Fellas, keep up the creativity because it's well appreciated.
