Ode to 3rd i

All wonders ceased today.
All works man knew
won't dare amaze
this humble creature
again.
I fear
I failed
to mark the time
for it passed so quickly
but I pray history
forgives me.
I am but
human.

Indeed
what good is a watch
when time itself
came quickly still
standing
by my side
likewise
holding breath.

For my fellow
blessed prisoner....
she is moving on
finally released
from our cell of pain
and I
stand numb in shock
happy & saddened...
as the light
cascaded
through electrodes
dancing
like infant laughter does
around the ear
gently tracing
those silky lines
across the screen
through my retina
and into my mind.....
informing me of her farewell....
Ah, I sat
transfixed, wondering
if only I had power
to beg
instant transformation
and to join
that blissful
spectrum....

no
merciless Venus herself
could not sculpt
such a miracle
for me...
for I'm no more special
than any one else

and so
for want
of even
echo's curse
to mimic
those sweet musings of yours
I will sit
and watch you pass
as time
pardons even his-self
for the digression
made good with a
patronizing
pat on the shoulder
and dances
continuing off
with you into
oblivion.
the place that only
with a 3rd i can be see
the place that many of us
can only dream.........

That was a lovely tribute. My fleshly brother, MALACHI aka Mike (but my brother in so many ways) called me when he first found out. H ewas devastated--as was I. So wrong that life becomes somehow too hard to find the will to keep breathing. But I share with you--and everyone else--the scripture that comforts me most when faced with loss:

(Luke 20:38) 38 He is a God, not of the dead, but of the living, for they are all living to him...

I did some add'l research on that scripture, and this is what I found:

Is that not comforting? The dead are in the safest situation imaginable, like an infant protected within its mother’s womb. Indeed, those resting in the grave are perfectly preserved within the limitless memory of Almighty God. (Luke 20:37, 38) And soon they will be brought back to life, entering a happy, welcoming world much the way a newborn is greeted by a loving, waiting family! So, there is hope even in the face of death.

God’s View of the Dead
THE death of a loved one is indeed distressing. The empty feeling, the loneliness, and the sense of loss are unfathomable. Bereavement can make a person feel helpless, for regardless of how much wealth, power, or influence he might possess, no one now on earth can restore a dead person to life.
However, our Creator looks at matters differently. Having formed the first human from the dust of the ground, he is also able to re-create a dead person. For this reason, God can view the dead as though they were alive. Regarding faithful servants of old who have died, Jesus said: "They are all living from standpoint."—Luke 20:38

So, I hope that brings you a measure of peace & comfort. Don't be consumed by guilt. Life is too fragile for "what ifs". And, truly--she's with God now. And resting and at peace.

Granted, one who takes his own life deprives himself of the opportunity to repent of his self-murder. But who can say whether one driven to suicide might have had a change of heart had his fatal attempt failed? Some notorious murderers have, in fact, changed and earned God’s forgiveness during their lifetime.—2 Kings 21:16; 2 Chronicles 33:12, 13.

Thus, Jehovah, having paid “a ransom in exchange for many,” is within his right to extend mercy, even to some self-murderers, by resurrecting them and giving them the precious opportunity to “repent and turn to God by doing works that befit repentance.”—Matthew 20:28; Acts 26:20.

Yeah, I'm definitely not judging. That's not up to me. That's up to Jah. Mike & I had a cousin that took his own life a couple years back. . .we certainly hope that the resurrection hope extends to such ones. As the scriptures say, resurrection of the "righteous AND the unrighteous", he who dies has been "acquitted of his sins", and another personal fave "DO NOT MARVEL AT THIS (love that part b/c it just reminds me that it's not a big deal for Jah thru Christ to bring our dead loved ones back. . .as easy as waking them from a nap), the hour is coming when ALL those in the memeorial tombs will hear my voice an come out". So I figure that God's mercy extends to her. At least I pray (as I know you do, too) that it does. And again, the prayer of the righteous one has much force. It's so awesome to me that our prayers could case Jah to act in a way that he wouldn't have without them.

Thank you for bringing her passing on to light. I'm so thankful to have had the joy in reading her works in finding her pic on myspace in dancing with her through poems.

Your tribute reminded me to be more thankful to watch the time closer and be mindful of just how fragil and short our time is here on this earth...

and her time on okayplayer inspired many and got folks to reword/rethink what they were trying to say through the written word..for her i am forever thankful...
