I thought it showed of Ja that alot of people might have never saw. His comments about the beef cant be proven since there are contradicting stories from both camps but It was interesting hearing about his life growing up as a jehovas witness and his ordeals in high school

Watching the interview as I write this and I have to say after trying to give the brother the benefit of the doubt....I just has some reservations about the interview. Maybe it has to do with the timing of the interview, his CD drops tommorow I believe, and the fact that most of his CD fires back at 50, it just make me question the sincerity of squashing this beef. As Mos would say this isn't (shouldn't) be beef..

SOMETIME request are answered, then maybe not and yeah BET benefit also.

Also, long ago FREE said she wanted Ja and 50 to come on toghether.

BUT,in part it just may not be all about the timing of the cd,although it happens often.

I have to agree with what the previous person said, It seemed like a promotional thing. Now if this interview would have taken place a few months earlier...then I could believe it a little more. It seemed to show a
more vulnerable side of Mr.Rule ya know with the thing about his moms & fam. He wants to be respected..not loved. He (Mr.Rule) made some valid points about the media & fans or non-fans. See if 50 had a album that dropped 2morrow, he would have been there.

You are beautiful to me
Wet your lips and let's do a thing
With a view to make your spirit sing
I have come to be your man
In a strange and hostile land
So wet your lips
And let's fall in love
And stay with me

Wet your lips
And let's fall in love
You are blood and wine to me
Wet you lips
And let's do a turn
With a view to make your body burn
I'll rebuild the scenery
Into garden greenery
So wet your lips
And let's fall in love
And stay with me

Wet your lips
And let's fall in love
You're the molecular soul of me
Wet your lips
And let's dip your wings
Into shapes of many things
I have come to bring new life
And to help you squeeze it from your slice
So wet your lips
And let's fall in love
And stay with me

I will feed you like a bird
From the mouth of my dying words
So wet your lips
And let's fall in love

Wet your lips

Wet your lips
And let's fall in love

Most of the post before me discussed how Ja Rule is just participating in this interview just for promotional reasons. Whether that is true or not, the content of the interview was good. And, I think that is what people are missing. There is a larger picture of why there is even a "beef" and why the current state of hip-hop is where it is.

I'm glad they put it on during 106 because the youth need to hear these things. So personally I think the interview was on point.

Peace to all Originals

i thought it was commendable of ja rule to admit that he felt compelled to respond to 50 cuz his audience (consumers of hip hop, radio/mixtape dj's) would label him "soft" or a coward. after all, that's his paycheck. i know its just stating the obvious, but he could've been on some other bullshit.

i thought farrakhan was on some bullshit though when he talked about his idea for a 50/ja concert promoting unity. sorry, this is highly unlikely.

im just picturing 50 watching this laughing his ass off.

about this special being a "promo", im not sure. i didnt catch it straight from the beginning, so i dont know if ja mentioned some other songs on his album. farrakhan did say "clap back" a whole lot. and i can understand sway bringing up the new album because of the (supposed, ) death threats aimed a t 50 and his family.

Did Biggie get labeled soft or a coward for not clappin back at Pac? Aside from the one line in "Brooklyn's Finest" which is more of dis to Faith than Pac.

I guess the variables are altogether different since Ja and 50 were never friends.

i think by mainstream he means legitimate media. do i have to say it? fine, network. network = legitimate. i dont consider BET or MTV to be legit. anyway, i dont think ABC news or FOX news or CBS will be showing this anytime, either.

in my opinion, there aren't many legitimate qualities about any of the major networks, but that's a whole 'nother argument. but i understand now what was meant by mainstream.

we must also remember now that the same people who own MTV, also own CBS, and its not uncommon for them to cover something that MTV is focusing on, if only for 2 minutes and 30 seconds on the early show.

i'm guessing this is the week when CBS obigatorily has to make at least once mention about the new 2pac film, produced by MTV Films.

Just what Ja rule needed, Farrakhan boosting his already inflated ego. He was bitching about the public being fickle. Fuck that if he made quality music maybe people would listen to it a year later.

I only saw part 3 and 4 of the meeting. Farrakhan seemed out of touch and just basically running off at the mouth. Ja barely talked in the segments I watched. Waste of time.

I also think the interview was a step in the right direction. Although I personally cannot stand the "music" that either of these MCs produce (Ja or 50), it obviously has a pretty profound impact on the streets, so much that they felt the need to address the situation on primetime television.

Isn't the whole beef about 50 not thinking Ja is "hard" or "thug" enough to portary the image that he does? Well, that mentality is what is destroying hip hop today. Why should being "thug" at all validate you as a decent MC (not that I think Ja is) but still. And if anything, why don't these MCs try to demonstrate their skills by coming at each other on wax rather than in the streets (ie, Nas and Jay-Z). Which ever cat lyrically dessimates the other is the winner! Personally, I am so sick of hearing about 50 and why he is the greatest because he has gotten shot. Yeah, the guy can take a bullet but when it comes to rhyming....he's not so hot.

I think that if 50 does not address this issue now that Ja has, he will come off looking like an uneducated fool because it will just demonstrate that he can't prove himself lyrically to the world so he has to do it by getting violent.

I mean, obviously this whole interview was a publicity stunt for Ja's upcoming album but in a way he really put himself out there by trying to squash this beef with 50. I think that if 50 does not acknowledge the issue and try to overcome it, he will come off as looking really bad.

First of all both JA and 50 are punks becuase they lettin white folks make money off of them glorifying Black death. And their beef is REALLY boring anywayz and they both SUCK and i never cared about the beef anywayz cause it seemed to be about personal stuff so they should have just handled it personally instead of letting the whole world hear a whole bunch of s**** talkin and crappy diss records. Finally I admire Farrakhan for tryna clean up the Black man, but he came off a little long winded and Ja's answers were stupid and it felt like a private conversation that was taped by MTV....i didnt watch the whole thing cause i didnt feel like I needed to.

i'm trying to remain positive, it was a step in the right diretion, at the same time....i can't help but realize that these peace talks are coming from the same man who blamed desiree washington and black woman for the whole initial tyson rape trial.
seems to me there was alot of blame being thrown around for things jah is responsible for as a human being. it just shown the state of immaturity jah is in at this point, but it's wonderful jah allowed himself to be vunerable.

I just watched part 1 and part 2.Ja to me is acting like he is a victim when in actuallity he is just as responsible as 50 is.It is amazing to me how he talks about peace and ending this feud but I bet Blood In My Eye is taken alot of shots at 50.I mean he already got a song called clap back.I love the Minister but I think he needs to get into the ghetto's and address some real issues instead of two niggas feuding because of their inflated egos.

I thought it was pathetic how much Ja tried to sound/act like 2Pac. The interview sounded almost exactly like an old Pac MTV interview. It was like he studied all of his old interviews and tried to be like that. I agree that it was nothing more than a publicity stunt for his new album.

But according to their history, the music has nothing to do with their beef. It's a personal thing between the both of them from years ago that hasn't been settled. Like some of you have said, it's their maturity level and lack of co-operation with eachother that's hindering any chance of them getting along. I really doubt Farrakhan doing the interview helped at all. He was almost eerie to me cause he kept talkin funny like sayin "I love Ja" and the cat is right there in front of him. In reality, it's gonna take those two cats being in the same room to resolve this matter.----------------------

opened my eyes 2 some things... but not much. i thought ja had a lot of balls sayin he would attack any1 dissin murda inc. rite in front of Farrakhan.

but Farrakhan's words were very general thinkin when it comes to the Godly side of things. but that's probably all you can expect ja 2 understand in that situation.

my take on the whole Ja rule louis farrakhan "interview"

what the fuck was all that about? I kept thinking it was some sort of joke.. both of them lamenting and going on and on about nothing in particular... hip hop is in trouble.. my foot. Hip hop was in trouble before there was any beef between those two.. Where was Farakkhan then? Mater of fact Ja was all for the state of hip hop when he was disrepsecitng owmena nd promoting gun play.. what a hypocrite. Hip hop is way bigger than some beef and these guys aren't even the biggest rappers in the game.. well 50 is but people hardly remember Ja...

Aside from Farakkhans' inarticulate blabbering what really made the whole thing stomach turning was the fact that it was aired on the same day Ja's new album dropped. To add insult to injury, they play the commercials of this new CD in between all Rarakkhans rantings of changing the world and all his conspiracy theories about the US govenrment and TIenaman square... WHat bullshit.. I wish BET hadn't aired taht shit.. especially during 106 and park.. I would have rather watched another stupid video from Marques Houston and I hate that little nigga.

They insult the public when they do things like that..obviously this was highly orchestrated... they should have done this way back in march not just before his album drops.. what's that about? Plus it's not like he didn't put out his own adis tracks.. just because they didn't get lots of play whose fault is that... I don't even believe Ja Rule.. it doesn't mean I condone what 50 did and all but it's not that big a deal.. seriously... neither of them are tellign the truth anyway I just get that feeling.. I think 50 is so over the beef thing because he knew he didn't need it anymore.. and yes he did need the drama to make sales at first BUT you could tel it was a heartfelt hatred AND it was a welcome change to hear some real rap in stead of sing-songy rap that Ja Rule kept ramming down our throuats.. he was getting way ahead of himself with that "it's murdaaaaaaaa" shit. Like we weren't already sick of it even before 50's Wanksta dropped? please.. the Jlo song was the limit for me.. I'd never miss Ja if he never did another record.. I was like damn this lil nigga's every where.. then mesmirize dropped with a jacked beat.. I'm like wtf? Ja doesn't say much everythign is a love song... I miss biggie's kinda rap I miss tupac's kinda rap I love that jay Z is true to his shit and didn't start singing and crying on video... I'm a girl but I love me some real fucking hardcore rappers.. Ja was all about selling records but all these people were trying to stay true to some ideal.. I don't get that from Ja.. I get it more from 50... sure he's all about selling records but when I hear him rap, it's exciting, it's real. There's just somethign raw I haven't felt from many new rappers ( except the clipse ) anyway.. I just hope no one's buying the propoganda Ja's carefully cooking up... and What was Louis Farakkhan talking about...? He's supposed to be talking about spirituality and he's talking about "how did the beef begin" for one, he shouldn't even be using the word "beef"... nah I wasn't buying it he didn't say anything deep or profound it was allll jibberish to me....

The whole trick was a ploy to sell Ja's shit and make 50 look like the bad guy.. I know they think the public is shifty and maybe we are in all honesty but rappers come in all flavours we're allowed to switch aren't we..? I don't knwo what Farakkhan was talking about but it's really just music... to me anyway.. I'm not caught up in ghetto mentlity thinking I"m going to hate one rapper because of another.. If thatw as true no one would like nas.. he's had beef with every fucking rapper alive.. same goes for Tupac.. he hated EVERYBODY.. if Pac was alive today he's be in some beef for SURE... doesn't mean we'll hate him or his enemies... I think Frakkhan just beliettleed everyone involved by saying Ja rule and 50 have some sort of power over us... oh please.. they're the leaders.. they have the oppurtunity to blah blah blah I've never seen a rapper in the last 8 years make any kind of political statement or even real sense. MOst of the time they're caught up in their little wars about who'e more "street" than the other.. tell me how that's really helping balck people.. How are rappers paving the way for any black person in America or outside of Amercia for that fact. Bah... I have my hwole theory on rap vs. reality but it's really nothing to do ith Ja or 50.. or even Frrakhan for that matter who ceased being relevant a long fucking time ago.

i am trying to read all of your post. but i wanted to say we could end it easily by no longer playing ja and 50's music on the radio. no longer playin their videos. no longer playin rappers songs that diss another rapper. as long as we stop instigating, things may get better. then ja and 50 can beef at their cribs and not on my time. it hurt beenie when they stopped playin his stuff in philly. the same people tryin to put this interview out as a solution are the same ones introducing us to the problem the same ones playin the diss songs. its not Hip Hop that is causing the destruction its artist with negative messages, kids having a mind of their own, continued media portrayal of what a rapper is and the thug image, and the people who own all the avenues to make the music heard. play what you want the kids to hear. how can you work for mtv and have a problem with what Hip Hop is doing to the society. thats like being a vegetarian working at a slaughter house.

they dont even make good thug music. give me some westcoast music anyday. hey man lets go back how in the heck did ja get big. i remember when i would be at the club djs wouldnt even play his verse from can i get a(yet they played amil's).
now we could put it like this the same way you got in the game is the same way your going to leave the game. 50 came in on a diss 50 gotta leave by being dissed. so how bout it skillz i'll ghostwrite(ghostwrite for skillz that would be priceless) we can make a diss song. and you'll be the next big thing but you gotta remember you wont last long then. or the "conscious" click of rappers can make a we are the world type of hype joint and put themselves on the map taking the number one spot. just some thoughts comment how you like. ask questions if you don't understand.

Clink, clink, clink, clink.........Warriors, come out and plaaayyyy! Evertime I watch that movie I have to rewind that part like 4 times because it is way too funny. Last Halloween I dressed up as one of the members of the baseball clown gang. Priceless! But you should see the looks I got from cats who didn't get the joke, and I'm a girl so I think it just added to the comedy of the situation. And yes, you're right, Ja is just as sketchy as that guy.

i didn't really know much about it as i don't really watch tv and don't really listen to either 50 or ja. but basically he told me that the beef was pointless stupidity and that farakhan just sat down and talked to ja about solving whatever stupid problem they had like adults and ja said he'd agree.

it troubles me that today's most popular artists need to be talked to like they're little kids needing a teacher to help them with their conflict. good thing they listen to someone like farakhan.

was good... was also bad. should not have been aired the day before jas album drops... should not have been aired at all maybe. maybe just snippets. i think its good that ja wants peace and that the minister was willing to talk to 50 and bring them together for peace.... but hey... no one listens... theyd all rather die....
