Hello Erykah, I really enjoyed your last appearance in Cary, North Carolina back in Summer 2007 if I remember right. I had found out you were performing in the amphitheater completely by accident as I was doing some weekend cruising around.
Also, Gil Scott-Heron was in Durham, NC, Friday, Feb 5th and he adores you. During a Q and A session before his concert, he was asked who's work he appreciates and you were one of the people he mentioned in addition to KRS, Mos Def and several others.
On New Amerykah Part 1 you have a song called TWINKLE. I wove the exasperated rant at the end of TWINKLE into my remix of Wild for the Night by Rampage and Busta. I hope that's OK with you. You can listen to it on my website; first album as you scroll down.
I'm just listening to Return Of The Ankh, it's amazing! Thank you so much; since Michael Jackson's passing I haven't really 'felt' any music, but I just fell in love for your album, thanks for bringing it back

I love the new album. "Gone Baby, Don't Be Long" is one of my favorites. Also, the Sylvia Striplin "You Can't Turn Me Away" cover was dope too. For some reason, I always had a feeling that you'd re-do this song and also that you would do it justice, with your own unique twist. Keep on supplying us fans with good memorable music to listen to.

Erykah. Your concepts and creativity never ceases to amaze me. I was really moved by the video and the fact that you choose such a soulful and musical song like "Window Seat" as your first single. That's a risk in itself..let alone the video. The song has live drums and like Maxwell's Pretty Wings..it"s winning over the people. When was the last time you heard a new song on modern r&b radio with live drums that's actually hitting?! The album takes more chances than ever before with the production and the people at large are gonna own a copy. People at large will really know who Madlib and J-Dilla is..not just "the heads", but EVERYONE (feel that?). What you are doing is making a bold statement that organic soul music has it's place amongst all the current bs that's hitting at the moment. It's a divine plan with divine timing seeing how it's a back-to-back situation with you and Maxwell..setting the tone for Michael Archer's return. You are making it easier for so many other great soul artists to stick their necks out there and give the world "what they really want to give them" instead of what a record label tells them they should give the people. We know what the people want because we know what we want..
God bless you on this journey and I hope to cross paths with you someday soon on a higher note..
King James Bible states in (1st Corinthians 14:8-9)-"..Again, If the trumpet does NOT sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle?..So it is with you."

i missed hearing 'Otherside of the Game' though. i hoped you'd incorporate 'Gone Baby' and/or 'Danger' in it. you know, like you blended 'On and On' with '...And On'.
that aside, the show was hot. the band was tight, the back-up singers were on it. your voice was on point. and i LOVE the hair.
btw, that 'Ain't No Fun' sing-a-long was great. my friends and i had a good time w/that. and we liked hearing more lyrics to 'You Lovin Me'.
just wanna say that i've got so much love for what you've done artistically and otherwise (b.l.i.n.d.). i'm bumpin your shit in my headphones all day, just groovin around town on the souls of my shoes.
new album is great, I've played 'Out My Mind, Just In Time' just about 3,015,371.3333 times. next time you do a show in nashville or memphis you can count on me being there...
