Preem relies on the same drum kit most of the time.....

I sware I remember reading an interview back in like '98 about Swizz Beatz and Mannie Fresh being the "best producers in the game" and I'm pretty sure they had Pete Rock and a bunch of cats blastin them. Not that Just Blaze is a new Swizz Beatz, but they're definitely the same fuckin ballpark. Just wondering what those 2 had to say to each other.
Come to think of it, I could be mistaking Pete Rock for Prince Paul.

I think you haven't paid any attention to Just Blaze's tracks comparing him to Swizz and Mannie Fresh. Just Blaze has more in common with Pete Rock than you think..

With all due respect, did you not read my post? I didn't say they were the same, I just said they were in the same ballpark of keyboard driven beats. I too think Just Blaze deserves more credit, but he is kinda hit/miss.

He used that break so many times at the beginning of his career ("Ghettos of The Mind", "Return of the Mecca", "We Got The Jazz" (remix), "Shut'Em Down" (remix), and "Soul Brother #1").
I love the break too, but I always wondered what prompted his use of "Long Red" so much. I mean, he was FIXATED on "Long Red"...for a good minute.

That must of been an experience. I've alway liked Pete Rock and he has been influencial to alot of producers that are out now that I like. I can't say I'm the biggest Just Blaze fan but there have been a few beats that I've heard and been like, "Just Blaze made that?!!! That's hot."
Also wanted to give you props on your live show as some others have. You guys are one of the only acts that are worth seeing live right now. There is no showmanship in hip-hop nowadays. You inspired me to get some of the dudes that I'm affiliated with and create a SHOW.
Also about the drums; alot of people that I know have also made that comment. I hear what you're saying but I think that since they stick out so far in the mix they are noticably the same in many of your beats. Otherwise I don't think anyone can say anything bad about your style and technique. Keep it up man.

word up on the MURS joint its very eclectic in the lyrical content complementing 9ths production. Very different with a Little Brother feel to it, i heard it last night, my man slid me copy of it "no bootleg" before it even hit the stores " no linear notes or anything".
