To me, as a musician and a fan I try not to think about what i'd change. I mean this is the Roots vision, they spent two years on this, made the decisions, I wouldn't want to change a thing, I take it for what it is.

I wish it was a little longer... albums like TFA and Illadelph spoiled me with approx. 20 tracks each. but hey, at least there is no filler. I'd much rather have 13 solid tracks with no filler, than 20 tracks with some filler.

i was against Jay being on the album and understood the Roots not wanting him on it, but when i listen to it and how darkly melodic the instruments are i would've loved to hear Jay and Black Thought on a track 'cause you know they would've challenged the hell out of each other.
would've loved to hear Jay on a third verse for Baby

take the first :30 and add to the end, so there is more of a transition into Don't Feel Right. That's the only one that abruptly ends, every other track just bleeds right into the next (which was an excellent idea, who does that these days??)

its great but it seems to go buy way too fast. especially with can't stop being 8+ mins. long. also the album kinda seems to "die" after "long time". i mean i like the last 4 tracks but the album had so much momentum after "here i come" and "long time" and it seemed to have lost it.

Damn it wasn't long before someone had to put a bullshit post like this up. Why aren't niggaz never satisfied. The album is what it is. You can't change it. The Roots are not going back to the studio to re-record it. Just leave it the fuck alone.

and since when does one listen to hip hop for the hook? either way, dude says "It's in the MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSIC!" like he's answering a stupid rhetorical question. Matter of fact, at the *end* of that hook he even says "what is y'all, stupid?" If the inflection was any different, it wouldn't have the same effect.
If I could change one thing about GT? Different vocalist for "Livin' in a new world". Hook is too nasaly for me. John John or whoever sounds like he's trying too hard to be laid back. Like Beck when he's hung over or something. The only other thing is BT's vocals on Atonement are a little too aggressive and doesn't match the track enough. I'd like to have heard him chill out a bit like he did on "complexity".

Yea somethin to do with the a how a few songs on there sound abit cut down. ie: Baby, Livin in A New World...maybe Atonement?? and. I dunno.. But I love this album.
So if the purpose or mission was to "leave em hangin for mo" than sir quest you win! But in this case WE win as well..
i will just like to give my thanks to the roots and hats off, because the album is killing. and ?luv, you really killing on the drums(you are up there with art blakely).
This shit bangs from track 3 to 9. BANGS. The intro and False Media are a good intro, but the album takes a turn when Livin In A New World (which kind of seems out of place on a hip hop album much less a Roots album) comes on after Long Time. I would continue the banging throughout the album. How about the Saigon and Black Star tracks? Why wasn't Bread and Butter on the regular album?

I don't get the intro... it's like 2 seconds, just seems like a waste to me, I don't even notice that it's a separate track from False Media so I don't get it...
It's not like the intro on Phrenology, where Rock you just comes and takes over, which has a good effect on the song. Maybe it's just me...

My hubby downloaded Game Theory from iTunes. But, I was adament that I would not listen to it until I got my copy from OKP. Couldn't pick it up during the weekday because I got home after 6 pm every day this week and the Apartment Complex office was closed. So, Saturday afternoon at 12:30 pm, I received my copy of Game Theory. And, I took a drive. That CD is the BEST CD I have heard ALL YEAR. From beginning to end, it is a masterpiece. I was blown away. So, I have to thank the Legendary for such a great CD. Every song touched my soul in some way. So...thanks.
I wouldn't change a thing. Except maybe to have put Bread and Butter as a hidden track

Enjoyed the Album greatly and agree with some of the points made here although we all know we will listen to the tracks that were released else where. I would have loved to see a return of scratch and rhazel for the tour and some time on the album in the lime light. Malik B is great to hear agin and it felt like more complete with him stepping in here and there.
