I think 'Faithful' could be a possible single in all seriousness. it could be the somber serious pensive alternate version of 'jesus walks'. it is a great song and i think could really touch the booty shake pickle pigfeat dj's and program directors of many urban radio stations. once they are on board the listeners (mindless masses) follow. the song is so good ,imho, that once the ppl get exposed to it that they can't front. it just has a very churchy godly just plain ole good feel to it that just can't be denied.

Faithful is the best "sing-along-to" song on the album!

The Go video has a snippet of "Faithful" at the end of it, if i am not mistaken. So the masses have already got a little taste of it.

for the record; i personally do not know of any video concept for this song. the whole R. Kelly thing is the only thing that made sense, so I ran with it and added sarcasm to flavor the pot. hopefully, they pull off whatever idea they have. but,'Faithful' really really, really really, really really, needs to become a single.

... and it seems Geffen still wants to release "Testify" against pretty much everyone in Common's fan base's wishes.

For the record, I think that testify is an amazing song, and I am mos def a member of Com's fanbase. Even though we are in the minority, there are plenty of okayplayers who have voiced their support for this record.
Furthermore, I am sure that Com's opinion was a major part of their decision to release this song, so if Com's okay with releasing it, then why are his fans complaining instead of supporting?

But it isn't single material. "They Say" is one of the best songs on the whole album as far as single material. (To me, They Say, Its Your World, and Love Is are the best single material.)

Testify is a much better song. "They Say" is cool, but Kanye's verse is horrible. Besides I think he should release at least one Kanye free single...seriously. "Testify" will definitely generate some sells from the hardcore crowd.

then bkyle if i am not mistaken or some other poster claimed that 'Testify' would be the next single. oh, snap wait a minute some label exec/grunt from Interscope was on Star and Bucwild saying out of her own mouth on air that Common's next single would be 'Testify'. someone posted a couple days back that a interscope rep. on radio said that testify was going to be the next single, and that supposedly testify has already gotten a couple hundred (100-200) spins and they say only had 9 spins.....
