black jack johnson is mos def's "ghetto rock" band. they put on a great show. i suggest trying to find a copy of one of them online. there are plenty out there. as far as his real name goes, i believe its dante smith. correct me if im wrong

carried away now. He always drinking and smoking but when a Muslim comes around, he tries to act like he's not into that. Ex. When my girl and I were backstage at the 930 club in DC, he was drinking a beer right. My friend is muslim and she was on one side of the room, getting a piece of his birthday cake she comes to say hi to Mos and he hides the beer underneath the seat and he's all like "How you doing Queen.....x, y, z" okay she leaves and he watches her. as soon as she's out of sight, he grabs that beer and finishes it.
I love him but he's getting loser status real fast for his half ass shows too. His performance at Black August was 6.5 on a 10 scale. If he dont want to rap, his ass should stop.

Mos was actually sharing the beer with the girl who brought him the cake (she had made it herself as a matter of fact and my friend was going to holla at her about making a cake for a party but i dont know what happened with that). ANyway, my Muslim friend came over to greet him and he hid the beer. Simple as that. You acting like I said he was smoking weed or something. I dont have no reason to lie, especially about this. Mos is Definitely Maybe Married August 19, 2005 We've got a little bit of a hot potato here, something we heard from our "sources" (read: birds and/or grapevines).
Mos Def was in town last weekend for the Marc Ecko Getting Up Festival, and you might remember that on Monday he surprised us all by showing up on MOD with Kanye West.
Well, apparently Mos Def is still in Toronto and...has since found himself a new wifey. Mos met his special lady sometime over the weekend and married her this past Tuesday. Not quite matching Tommy and Pam's record, but impressive nonetheless.

I was backstage at both shows... it amazed me how 'certain people' acted like they were in the know simply cause cats opened the door backstage... same people were on the side of the stage talking their ass off during the show...
