I'm simply one of the most loyal fans of Blackthought. From what I've seen written about him on the chat, it seems unclear to me wether he's being condemned or praised. Lyrically, I believe he's a living Matyr, but according to what I see written about him he's got a pretty short temper. Maybe I'm stupid or wuteva, I continue to look up to him. At one point I was sort of obsessed with him, I wanted to meet him badly, but after 3yrs of dissappointments (I couldn't and have not made any of their concerts),I've learned to obsess on the knowledge he relays and his lyrical prowess and not him.He's only man. To be <BR>able to diffuse knowledge out of a wise man is to be able to isolate the fact that he is man and is succeptible to moodswings, attitudes, and everything humane. My point is fuck the fact that you got dissed or whatever, focus on what he's doing for you as an artist and not how you see him as an artist. Ya understand?!! I dont know Black Thought personally, but i know people often take the same approach to my comments. I think it would be ridiculous to assume Black Thought was trying to beef wit people who support him. Its just that whats funny or humorous to this man may be shocking or offensive to those who dont understand it. If you look at every comment that you people have posted that Thoguht supposedly made, you will see that they could all be takin as jokes. that's pretty much what I said...I can see how they all could be jokes...but some people can be offended by it...yeah..I don't care what he says I'll still listen to him.., but you must ask yourself, where do these artist belong in society?...should they be role models? should they carry themselves as they normally do, and not be held up to higher standards? Treated differently?...Should the sing about things they don't truly live and support?<P>Sometimes we forget that people really look up to artist, especially the younger generation. I've been reading everyone's posts about the BT chat and it seems as if half the people are upset that he was being sarcastic and/or ignorant, and the other half are defending him by saying that he was just kidding and amusing himself. Well the truth is that no one in the chat knows for sure and it doesn't really make sense to try to psycho-analyze him and his statements. You can't honestly know someone based on words you have read. Now I wasn't in the chatroom that night so I don't know the context of any of it. But I can say that I met BT at the Black Lily show about a month ago and he was totally cool. I had a brief conversation with him about the New Year's show, his solo album and the next Philly show. He didn't come off as being arrogant and actually didn't seem to mind spending a minute to talk to a fan. That same night I spoke with ?uest and he was just as cool. <BR>So I guess what I'm saying is you can't judge somebody by comments you read in an online chat without actually meeting them in person. If everyboby met BT individually, my guess is that he would treat each person with respect.<BR>At least that's how he came off to me.<BR>Peace,<BR>McBride.
