I been thinking about this for a long time now. Why the switch at the keys? DYWM had Storch on the keys, then all of the sudden Illadelph has Kamal. Was Storch just a collaborator, or was he an official member of the group? I know he still writes with the Roots, but why doesnt he play on a full time basis with them anymore? Did he leave to pursue other interests/work with other artists? Nothing against Kamal, but I always dug Storch's hooks. I never heard a definative explination on this one, and couldnt find anything in the archive. Anybody care to comment?

Yeah, I know he played on Organix. I just used the DYWM to Illadelph example as a time line for the change, cause that is (I believe) when it happened. Thanks.

i think he left to pursue other things. he did a lot on the Chronic 2000 (e.j. bling bling bling on "Still D.R.E"). but who knows what goes on in bands, or why members leave. sometimes it's just personal.

*Stress'---I HATE this "hit enter and it posts" thing you have going here.
ok but anyways, I heard that during the time of Organix and DYWM!?!?, he was still in school which made it hard for him to travel with the rest of the band....so they had to get someone who could practice with them and then be able to tour.....but he did lace the Dre joint nicely...
one.

Hate to digress from the thread, but I'm wondering what else Storch has worked on. I mean, he does great amounts of stuff with The Roots, I know he's all over the Jazzies' debut, dropped some stuff on Dre... where else can we find this guy? (I really dig everything I've heard from this guy... whether composition-wise or what...)
