VOODOO live is a totally different experience than the CD. The Songs take on a life of their own. Take "Devils Pie" for instance on the CD its cold, dark and gritty, but live its full of energy and never loses the integrity of the original. Moments like that have to be immortalized. The VOODOO tour experience has to live FOREVER!

The Voodoo tour most definitely needs to be professionally recorded and sold everywhere, but two cds is not enough!
Call me a purist, but I want the *whole* show. The LA show was 2 hours and 45 minutes --- that's three cds and room for bonus tracks baby!!!!!
Also, I think an accompanying video and DVD is essential as well because D'Angelo's visual cues to the audience are very important.
Someone listening to the cd might say for instance "Why is everybody in the audience screamin' like that in One Mo' Gin???"...
Finally --- if the cd isn't three cds (...which it most likely won't be says the pessimist in me...) put a different track selection on the video, DVD and cds so that a complete show can be had if you buy all of them.

When i was VSU years back in Petersburg,VA they used to play his live rendition of "I Betcha" by earhwindandfire all the time. i have dreamed of my own copy i liked his version better than the original!! I am totally for a D'Angelo & the Soultronics live album. I have a lot of the things he has done on tape, like the Chris Rock shows, the MEN STRIKE BACK show, and the BET ALL clip. I feel like he gives more of himself to a live audience. It also enhances the music because a live performance usually features new material sonic-wise.
