The Lesson Pt. 1 From the day the promo 12" of Distortion to Static & The Lesson came into my old college radio station (BIG UP WCCH low power 103.5fm!!!) I was hooked...Dice Raw's verse on The Lesson Pt.1 goes on forever...I played that joint on every one of my shows for the whole year. (and even still spin it once in ahwhile)Question...when will promo vinyl on his latest reach me?

Cause he know the time like I know the time When I grab the microphone It's like, summertime, laid back, to recline In my La-Z-Boy chair Dice Raw, the Wild Noid I'm the fuck up outta here"-Dice Raw(The Lesson Pt.1)
One of my all time favorite verses in hip-hop(thats why I had to give ya the whole thing...lol)
I was in 9th grade when I heard this song one day at a friends house after school, around the time when I just heard "Silent Treatment" for the first time, and this cat made me listen to this track and I was hooked!!! So later that day you would find me at Tower Records(The ONLY place were you could find a Roots record in NE.PHILLY in 1993) buying DYWM.
AND ever since then I've been a fan of The Roots!!!
BUT anyway the point of this post is to not D**k ride anybody, cause an artist is just like you and me, BUT fans of hip-hop have been waiting a very long time for him to drop a solo!!!!
**** DISCLAIMER!!! -----> I'm an asshole. Please take the following personal ****
"Lyrically versatile My rap definition is wild I wrote graffiti as a juvenile Restin on deuce trey And used to boost gray Kangol's with 555 Soul's from the streets of the Ill-a-delphiadaic insane For monetary gain, niggaz is slain on the train It's homicide For wealth stealth missions for crack In the alleyways, where niggaz get grazed in the back From stray shots Clips with hollow tips, for your spine or Either remain calm, catch a rhyme, to your mind Niggaz ya know my style I run a--motherfuckin-rap--muk Wit Malik in a U-Haul truck I stand five, foot seven, in command of the party and scam like Uncle Sam I'm never caught up in the glass eye of your action cam, cause I'm down low Artistic exquisite rap pro, that get the dough It's the Philly borough dread thoroughbread for dolo I bag solo, like a nigga that boost Polo Steppin through the corridor, of metaphors Lookin over my left Shoulder the mic, still feel colder than before With this jazz shit I hit your jaw Dice Raw, get up on the mic, my young paw I be the nigga blowin up the spot on tour Surely real to the core, old school like '84 I never die, and raps till my lungs collapse Then relax until my knack for tracks Bring it back, on time When I rhyme my rep remain Either go against the grain or your ass is found slain I overcome, niggaz want styles then I throw you some Show you some, get on the mic and take it over son"
Dice's verse was long and ill but Thought is the one who ate this track up....
And on a side note... cats who say Canibus took "Beats from the East" away...
do you recall Redmans verse? Damn that was one of the SICKEST verses I ever heard... straight up. Line for line, every bar was a buggout and the cadence untouchable. Canibus had the ill anchor but Redman ate that track alive on some real...

I agree Thought RIPPED it with that verse but Dice made a GREAT song CLASSIC!!!!! (feel me?)...when I 1st heard "The Lesson Pt.1" I heard Thought's part and thought "aww ahit, it's OVER!"....THEN, outta nowhere I hear the greatest one-liner EVER!:
"to leave niggaz missin in action like their dads in the projects..."
THAT opening line made me a DICE RAW fan for life!....the only other time I ever got THAT hyped over a guest verse was when AZ put it down in "Life's a Bitch".....
22. "RE: do you recall???" In response to Reply # 12
Sorry BUT I still feel that Dice ripped it more than Thought did and Dice made that song a classic. BUT don't get me wrong, on dissin Thought cause thats one of my fav. Thought verses it's just that Dice took it over on that track.
