She annonced it last night during her show at The Nation. DC is a big part of her sucess. I read somewhere that DC was her biggest market. There is a lot of hating going on on the boards about the District but one thing is for sure, we appreciate good music as evidenced by Jill Scott's sucess. The show last night was off the hook. It was damn near like going to a Maze show. If you have ever seen Frankie Beverly and Maze in DC you would understand. She didn't have to sing anything from all the crowd particpation. The jazzed up percussion version of Slowly Surely was ridiculous.

I saw her at the Nation in D.C as well, and that shit was SICKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!! The way she flipped "Slowy Surely"?? All I could do was "roll a tree" and just meditate on how ill the show was. I've got to see her again!

Certified Gold in the US Billboard charts which don't even take in the fact that she be gettin mad love from us in the UK and the rest of europe. I listen to Jill nearly every morning while I get ready for work and I'm still moved by IS IT THE WAY THAT YOU LOVE ME everytime I hear it.

I totally, totally, TOTALLY agree with that!! I mean, all you see is all these new groups coming out and they all kinda sound the same to me. And they all sing about the same things. They sound very similar and I get so tired of all these new groups that are coming out, but sound the same!!! I really like Jill and I have her album and I can't go a day without playing it. I recorded it onto my jukebox on my computer and whenever I'm on it, I play her more than I play whatever else I have on there. I'm very happy for her and I wish her more success cause Lord knows she deserves it. I have watched her perform on tv before and while I was watching it, I was on the phone with a friend. He didn't know about Jill Scott!(??)But anyway, he asked what I was watching and I told him and he turned to it and watched it with me. At the end of her performance, he said that he liked her and that he was going to go get the album. He said that her performance was live and full of great energy and he said that he could tell that she put her all into her performance and that makes it come across,to him, that she really loves what she do. So all in all, he said that she gives a "really good performance. God Bless Jill Scott.

I must say that this is the best CD that I have listened to in long time. Jill, man, you have a way with words. You have plenty passion in your songs. I have listened to "He Loves Me" so many times that the song now skips. I need a new CD. As a matter of fact I might just get two of 'em. One for the car, one for the apt. Not many people around don't even know who Jill Scott is. Iam trying to educate them. Now, I must see a live performance. Does anyone know when she will be in the Chicago or Milwaukee area?
