regardless of all the static theroots.com got once okayplayer was up that site is the one that let me know this site was being built and directed me here. I also got mad live recordings off that site which allowed me to understand what the crew was doing and made me more interested and excited to see them. Now after 20+ shows later and 2 years of okayplayer Ive met players coast to coast as well as in Europe ( big ups to Krewcial and his crew).
This thing of ours La Cosa Player is doing well y'all. Big ups to Tank, Angiee, Onedrop (the original IOkayArtist) and all the other staff and artists involved. I remeber the good ol' days...I had just started listenin to The Roots in the fall of '98...I bought illadelph halflife, then DYWM?!!!???!...I couldn't read enough bout 'em...I went to theroots.com and poked around...I even gotta shout out from the cat who ran it...I thought that was pretty cool...I was really anticipating TFA...the first time I came to OKAYPLAYER.com it had all them album covers for different sections...so I go click on one of 'em and it says...COMING SOON...shit! I wanted it now!! so, yeah...them was good times, exciting times...esp. for me because I had just found what I was lookin for...ORGANIC JIPJOP family, interaction with others...I used to post like mad...I even ordered CRITICAL BEATDOWN because ?uest recommended it...damn. GOOD TIMES!! peace....
On since Sept. '99, later than most cats but still in time for a lot of fun. Formerly 'finality' - first post asked about people who knew cheap places to pick up wheels of steel. No one responded.
All good. since then.. the old site designs - I was really shocked when the last design change was made., artist posts, and finally feeling part of the fam kicking back and listening to ?uest on Power 99.
