RPWQ: The Divinci Code

Inboxes: If you have it set to notify you via email when you receive an inbox, instead of that email coming from "boards@okayplayer.com" it now comes from the email address of the user who sent you the inbox. This cretes two problems:

1) You may want to communicate privatly with someone here, but may not want them to have your personal email address.

2) the inbox notification goes to my junk mail folder if I don't have the person's email address on my safe list. I have my email set up to show a pop up on my screen when I get a new email so I can quickly address board issues when they come up. But the pop up only works when I get a new email in my inbox, not my junk mail folder.

If at all possible, can we please switch the inbox notification to come from "boards@okayplayer.com" instead of the sender's email address.

Sig length: I like that there is a limit on length, cuz some people get out of control with it, but I think it needs to be bigger if possible.

I'm not feeling that at all. Unless a person really takes the time to dig, there's no real way to access those old discussions that are so vital to the history of this place.

Having a separate archives page was very convenient and very logical. I hope y'all will bring that back. For the okaymentary and for the people who come her 5-10 years hence.

Otherwise, I'm still getting used to the newness. Seems to be more functional and a lot faster. Much like many other people have said.

EDIT: It would be cool to regain the ability to know who your inboxes come from before you access your inbox. If that's a trade-off for some of the improvements, that's a reasonable compromise.

Bring back ARCHIVES

when you post a message to a thread, it doesn't automatically just send you back to view all where you can just scroll down and read the messages, you have to then click view all to get to that page

not a huge deal, but it was really nice the way it was before

now the boards are doing that thing that other boards do that I hate. it's listing every page in the history that you visit on the boards, every topic is listed as a different site in the history drop down menu. I dislike that greatly, cause if I wanna hit up a site I recently visited, it could be dropped out of the history menu if I view too many topics on the boards. it used to just list the boards once, no matter how many topics I clicked on.

I used Safari w/ tabbed browsing on. The boards' page title defaults to "Okayplayer.com Boards" when only one page is open. When I open different topics in new tabs, it used to switch the tab titles to the name of the topic.

Now, it does the same, but puts the topic's number first. This is a problem b/c the tab, being as small as it is, abbreviates the titles. So what use to read:

"NEW: Board Upgra...

now reads:

#73587 - NEW: Boa...

Which makes it hard to know what the tab is. It gets worse when you open more tabs and are only left with the number.

if users preferences are set to notify by email whenever an inbox is received, the email address of the inbox sender is revealed. Kinda defeats the privacy of the inbox feature when your personal email address is revealed like that. Hope that made sense. Before the upgrade, these notifications displayed boards@okayplayer.com as the sender.

- after posting a response, the subjectline font of said response would initially be red. now it's just blank.

- i no longer receive e-mail notifications of inboxes. and yes, i've double-checked i have the feature enabled. and yes, i've received inboxes.

- sight-wise, the line-spacing could be increased slightly. a small step here could mean a world of difference.

is it possible not to have direct links to archive boards in the 'jump to another forum' box at bottom right? theres too much in there, especially when you just want to go quickly to another board.
