I think we all see it done all the time by artists old & new, it's just how the music industry is, when you got a hit, you got to ride it baby; which is why artists will do remixes to a hit song 6 to 12 months after it was released, just to keep it going.

this song was dope to me because not only did it embrace video games at the time, but they had sampled the sound effects from them (that was way different for the time, and added to the "edge") but yeah, this joint is def. "Alligator Woman" Pt. 2

when I started going back and buyin Zapp and Roger albums, I would find all these "non-Zapp" gems...this is my SHIT tho, man...

the one Nas actually features regularly in his live show.
I hoped "The Departed" feature might give 'Thief's Theme' a new life but it didn't really happen & then when I saw him on the Distant Relatives tour it was clear that Nas still looks at 'Hip-Hop Is Dead' as a big song in his catalog for whatever reason.
It did sound nicer with Junior Gong's band but as a song it's the same Iron Butterfly sample with Will warbling on the hook & a topic that felt forced.

I copped Bernie's solo record call Blacktronic Science...skimming thru the credits, I see he has a song with George and Bootsy, and the 3 of them are credited for writing it...
I was so geeked....when I got to the song and it started to play, I was shocked...but I figured maybe its just an intro...no.
as the song played, my heart sank...though I've never listened to the song again, I'll never forget it...
George, Bernie and Boosty vamping over a straight loop of Aqua Boogie...
this is the live version, the album version is not on you tube...if you listen you can hear Aqua Boogie, but on the album its plain as day...

Im not ashamed to say I liked Korn's first 4 albums...they were the kind of band whose fans ended up making them uncool(though they would do a good job of it themselves later on)
they were different from other hard rock bands because their rhythms had a funk to them...no, they werent funky but their shit had a swing that other rock bands didnt have....besides David Silveria was dope as fuck on the skins (he saw the writing on the wall and quit the band)
the last song on their first album, Daddy, is famous because at the end of it lead singer Jonathan Davis has a real meltdown--screaming sobs and the whole 9...
well, since the song stirred up so much interest...they decided to let Jon tap into a painful place again on Kill You, the closing track of their 2nd album and end the track by having a mini-meltdown...

a lot of their slower/more sluggish songs sound almost the same, just with different lyrics. really similar riffs, changes, same plodding drums.... gets boring.
