"I Challenge Childish Gambino to a Rap Battle at the Cheesecake Factory"

The Marina Del Rey one.

Down on the docks.

On web cam.

Winner gets two servings of popcorn shrimp.

Loser just gets served, plus never interrupts the flow of a real rap show from this point forward.

Holla at me when you get done regurgitating that Weezy 'A Milli' flow.

I'll rock a rhyme like Kane without the wit, Chuck D without the bass, Ra without the depth or KRS but losing breath.........and I'll still put yo LameVainWayne style to death.

Chunky A>>>>>>>>>Childish Gambino.

Come see Bambino.

Results are inconclusive.

So what, was he that bad?

Oh, and I'm considering archiving this no matter what, just for shits and giggles.

oh I was definitely not sober at the time of this post, however I'll stand by it.

>So what, was he that bad?
>
Yes......plus his badness stood out because it wasn't something you could avoid like an opening act, it was smack in the middle of the show.

I actually recall The Roots during the Things Fall Apart spring tour having Black Moon (supporting War Zone) come out to do a mini-set in the middle of The Roots' set.

However that actually worked because Buckshot & Company aren't Childish Gambino but even still I could tell some of The Roots' audience was confused (keep in mind Black Moon hadn't had an album out for six years at that point).

I seriously thought he was a comedian doing rap as a joke on some "Weird Al does rap" steeze but I guess he's now taking his role more serious, oh well, if people are willing to pay to hear him rap then like they say "a fool and their money shall soon part".

here is a link to his album called Culdesac. This motherfucker is Dope. he's one of very few rappers who are coming honest with the lyrics in terms of content and subject matter. he has good vocab. the production on this album is dope as fuck. he's ghost-written tracks for some major artists....

Well, it was mostly the two of them on a Hollywood lot trying to impress some girls, but he said it started to come off like a battle after a bit.

i was mad underwhelmed also at the HOB saturday. it was worse than the time everlast followed the roots and played before slim back in 99, and that REALLY sucked the air out of the lineup for a FULL set.

And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

In response to Reply # 36

... One of the weirdest lineups for a show I've ever seen, especially since it ended with a pre-megastardom BEP after half the audience left following Eminem. But yeah, Everlast stunk up the joint. I remember everyone finally getting excited when he played the intro to "Jump Around," then it ended being this boring faux-blues reworking of the song, and everyone went back to sleep.

Sorry to take the post in a different direction, that was just one of the more memorable concerts of my youth.

His early mixtapes were rough, but his Wayne-ness has been declining as he's slowly finding his voice. And his "All of the Lights" remix "Break" was dope. So was that "Rolling in the Deep" cut he spit on. And "Freaks and Geeks" was a monster of a track with a few quotables in it.

so yes, the name isn't serious, even though his raps aren't out-and-out comical as such.

(By the way, I'm not a fan. But I think this is a ridiculous objection.)

I just hope people are being consistent...

I respect this dude's passion.

There were a few songs of his I felt (I think they were Break and Not Going Back and a few others I don't know the name of)

but overall not for me.

I just hope Drake fans aren't hating on him...cuz that would be hypocritical as f*ck.

At least this dude has ***a little more**** varied subject matter, doesn't take himself too seriously, and puts some passion into his flow.
