Even still those two dudes working together is pretty special... I could have easily included them as part of a fantasy trio if this post had been made before that news broke. Now if I was going to make this "pie in the sky never happen" fantasy I'd have added someone like Sade or Chaka as the third... going with a more realist take I'd run with Syleena Johnson, Ivana Santilli or Joi.

established artists need to mentor and leave all of this what's the supergroup formula shit alone. you had a good career making it for yourself, pass it on to the youth. give us some young cats to believe in.
this isn't to say there's nothing good that could come from it, but honestly too much is made of it. you wanna do supergroup shit go the beck record club route. just do it... put it out. the event of it turns me off because i have no expectations.

Cats that have worked within a band framework before and bring something to the table production wise seem best suited for those types of projects.... like Ray and Quest. but I've never been adverse to the thought of a supergroup.
I loved the Gayngs album, for example. Though they weren't one at inception, my favorite band The Time technically is one now. and eff what anyone says: The Clarke/Duke Project was perhaps the most appropriate pairing of 2 artists ever, even if it didn't yield the sweeping, challenging fusion explosion people were hoping it would.
