i got a refurbished ipod for like over a year now and no problems on that either

you get the same warranty and everything. you can also get applecare (and prolly should). i copped my ibook g4 that as a factory refurb from macconnection and, years later, it's still going. my shit has suffered some MAJOR drops too.

bottom line, if it's refurbed by apple, it's just like buying new.

no problems at all so far and ive had it for about 2 months. i have no complaints related to the reconditioning of it

from what i've seen, there's just as good of a chance of it working absolutely flawlessly and completely crapping out. i work at a pro-audio store, and we are an apple dealer. we won't get the refurbs for people anymore just cause they've been so hit or miss.

After you get credit, cancel the shit. "return to sender on the CH box" drop it in the Mailbox. I used the same logic as you and pretty much decided I would keep Columbia house.

Most definitely, those are the easiest to get credit for & the easiest to cancel. I canceled a couple of them last night. Be careful tho, because some of them sign you up for two offers. READ THE TERMS!

but have any of you guys done the diet.com or PitneyBowes offer on page 3? I'm trying to spend as less money as possible so I'm staying away from the wine stuff, but I was wondering how easy it was to cancel and/or return the diet.com or PitneyBowes offers.

i did the pitney bowes one. you do have to pay the 30 dollars for that postage thing. after reading several forums, a lot of people stated that the diet.com offer was hard to cancel and that there were a lot of complications. the pitney one is instant as well, so it saves you the agony of waiting.

i just have 3 more to be verified and i'm anxious as hell.

assuming/praying i get my laptop, i think i'll try to return it at an apple store for a gift card. then i'll use my education discount and upgrade a few features and get apple care as well.

I downloaded the PeoplePC program, installed it, ran it, and checked my email on it but it still hasn't credited me.

as you get credit for them. I had all of my canceled 5 days after initial sign-up.

because they're all pretty much linked together. she did a search of all my accounts by name, e-mail, and telephone on record to weed out all the accounts i had signed up for. i'm still going to call on monday to make sure everything is taken care of.

Yep, I just called PeoplePC and asked if they an account created under my name. They said no, so I did it a second time and it completed.

Yall REALLY gotta read this shit. coupla of these joints are sneaky. They fine print tells you you're signing up for other offers as well -- small shit you can easily miss on your credit card statements that get you for a dollar or two a month. be sure you're reading and saving the agreements so you KNOW you've canceled everything you've signed up for but don't want.

number for 30 days, after that it's 4.95 per month for Voicemail that sends you a message in your email box every time someone leaves you a message. I've read that some of these companies call you. I haven't received a call yet, but that could change.

Also, it should go without saying but imma say it anyway, you should create a new yahoo, hotmail, gmail, or whatever account to do this. My yahoo accounts gets mad spam messages and the account has only been open for 1 week.

then head on home and add more ram and a bigger hard drive and place the order online and take advantage of my education discount to save 250+ dollars + get applecare on that beast.

A cat in the forum link I posted up there called the apple store in NY and they told him that he could not make an exchange. Others have reported that they have been able to exchange for the 2.33Ghz model with an upgraded hard drive. YMMV, but good luck anyway.

I would assume so if they take visa/mastercard, etc.

but some of them use verisign to verify your identity so you might have an issue there.

i ran into an issue when my bank started flagging the small purchases bc they were irregular -- i may not get it cause they eff'ed it up by holdin up the transactions until i verified that they were legit.

debit card. Debit is your money, credit is someone else's, plus you can dispute charges. I used my credit card and have not had any issues.

There have been people who have sucessfully used those virtual cards but some people have been reporting that they have issues with offers completing when using them, YMMV.
