this camera has gotten great reviews in the past
is it still up to par....???


also how is the image stabilization???

I got it and I love it.

Now.....take into account that technology moves fast, in another six months, it might be out of date.

Actually the new models are out. the SD800 and SD900 I think. I think the only difference between those and the SD700 is the number of megapixels and lowlight capability.

And yes, the image stabilization on the SD700 is worth it and shows. You should be able to get one around or under $300 now. Definetly a good cop. Huge screen.

unless you want more megapixels, the 700IS is great for point-and-shooters.

i'm honestly thinking of getting another one since the one i have is getting scratched up from taking it out and using it so much.

the 630's screen is bigger and is overall a bit sleeker size wise, but the picture refinement is worth the step up to the 700.
