"RPG thats the BEST storyline ever played/or Top 3 of all time:"

For me, I'd have to say Deus Ex. I just recently brought this game back out again and damn I love it. I'm into the conspiracy stories and what not and this game was put together flawlessly. I haven't seen a game yet to match it. IMO..

Agree/Disagree? whats yours.....

FFVI in Japan (which everyone is refering to) is known as FFIII in The States. Squaresoft was inconsistent w/ releasing FF games here at the time because RPGs were still a niche genre, but now they know better

i looked that stuff up on the internet and found it was all real life legend, even MJ12, and was amazed

the story itself, if you take it in isolation, maybe is has some xfiley corniness. but that's not important, it's how it actually ties in with the game. man i'll never forget when i found myself on level 3 of UNATCO again...

i must replay this someday, since it runs perfectly in Mac OS Classic and there's all the different gameplay styles (the enhancements)

the game was HUGE as well. there's buildings i can PICTURE but I can't remember where the hell they were in the game

It's a damned commitment, but it's worth it in the end.

The Shadow Hearts series had a damn good story (dunno bout part 3, haven't played it).

Nod to the Metal Gear Solid series (not RPG).
Final Fantasy Tactics (not RPG).

They brought ESs into the fray in part 2 (think the Gears instead of AGWS) which were cool. They were even better in part 3. Yeah, I agree bout AGWS though. I never bothered using them either.

The story hasn't concluded yet, but it's seriously freaking amazing so far, and Dreamfall ended on quite possibly the most maddening cliffhanger in the history of storytelling. I NEED CLOSURE!

Dunno bout hardest, but it is a contender for GOAT. There's nothing special about the overall plot though. The subplots in each new area are what keeps it running. In fact there's nothing that sticks out about the whole game. But somehow it's just so damned AWESOME. I love that game, easily my favourite.

**SPOILERS**

The only real twists I can think of were "It's not the Jester's fault, there's a dark God," which, let's be honest, is not all that original and "My mouse is my grandfather," which, while original, is kinda weird.

**END SPOILERS**

That's not to say I didn't enjoy the story. I mean it's my favourite game, of course I enjoyed the story. It's just I didn't find anything particularly original about it. Just a bunch of tried and true conventions executed incredibly well.
