i'm getting a sony ericcson w810i on cingular soon but cingular's firmware doesn't allow for several features that i'd love. i want to be able to play mp3s as ringtones and also reprogram one of the buttons so it doesn't automatically go to internet. also, my bounty hunting instincts want to silence the shutter sound. i've done some research and it seems like davinciteam or wotanserver are the way to go, but i still have some questions...

a) will unbranding void the cingular warranty?
b) what are the chances that it bricks my phone?
c) how often does it effect performance? the phone geeks at howardforums.com seem to think it might lower the volume of the phone (i never use a bluetooth earpiece or anything, so i'm interested in the actual sound coming from the unit (no homo))
d) is unbranding the same as unlocking or flashing?
