Digipen is way more respected and has some type of accreditation...
Full Sail is a ripoff considering that you can take a monumental L if you don't find a job off-gate
And to be honest, you're better off just getting a computer science degree and getting found there. Mainly because it keeps you marketable for everything else in that field.

videogames are a multimillion $$ industry. There are a lot of programmers out there (not saying they get paid big bucks, but its certainly a big field).

it's just that the workload is really heavy. lots of 60/70/80 hour weeks. it's not for everyone. it takes someone really committed to their craft and passionate about gaming.

The reason big companies can over-work and underpay their employees is because there are so many people in the field right now. Companies have no problems firing people because there are 20 other programmers ready to take their place. I know a few programmers who graduated from my school and went into game design, and they say that it's really sparse right now.
