"iPod Browse by Artist bug? help!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi all,

I just upgraded from my 3G iPod, and so far I'm loving my 5G. However, I noticed a strange 'feature' that is irritating me.

When I browse by Artist, the iPod only displays the relevant album titles for that artist and the songs that are included on those albums. If the artist has a song WITHOUT an album title, that song is not displayed here (even if I select All).

In fact, if the artist has one album on my ipod it will immediately jump to the songs on that album, instead of giving me two options: All, AlbumTitle. On my old ipod, i would select 'All' and scroll to the bottom of the next screen to find those songs that don't have an album name.

Can somebody please help me with this issue? Let me know if I need to clarify the issue with an example...

Thanks so much!

-Jin

if you only have one album, might as well jump straight to it rather than make you choose between 'All' and 'The Only Album' just to select the same list of songs.

As far as them not showing up at all, my guess is that the mp3/m4a tags are incorrect for the artist. I don't think that not having the album in there would prevent it from showing up under the (correctly specified) artist name
