"slow internet problem...."
whenver me or one of my roomates is donwloading something on a file-sharing program (any bittorrent program, limewire, soulseek... sometimes even AIM transers)... our internet slows down to a crawl.
and being that the download is only going oh so fast (lets say 80 k/b sec), theres no reason this should be happening.
i have suspicions its our router and some of the port settings need to be changed.

im talking about sometimes it will be a friend sending me music over an AIM transfer, and my internet damn near dies from webpages loading so slow.... and the wierd thing is i did a bandwidth test during this problem and it said i was above average! makes no sense...

you may have to call your cable company and get it resolved.
i'm pretty sure youre on comcast since this happens to me...
its just that I've been downloading about 10 gigs a day, and killing my uploads, so I don't wanna set off any problems with them... so I keep it moving.
its slowed down lately, only happening when I use bit torrent through a site like mininova.org
