Kind of excited for this, it feels like an FFIV type of world, which we haven't really seen since the series went 3D (not sure about 11 and 14, haven't played those)

I'm going to believe that these were subtle digs at the Fabula Nova Crystallis games (13, 15) towards the end:

"The legacy of the crystals has shaped our history for long enough"

"I'll kill you... if it's the last thing I do"

I'm definitely ready for FF to be taken in a new direction, and this looks very promising.
