Yeah it really does. They've got two depth (normal and a deeper view) too. Looks brilliant and all, but it's hard to maintain the angle when your moving your hands around at critical moments. Nonetheless, still good.

I'm playing SMB3 at the moment, haven't played through that game to the end before, so attempting to do that before I start 3D Land. I'm actually finding SMB3 a bit difficult at times (I've only got past W3 SMH), kept making silly mistakes.

this along with Ocarina and Mario Kart 7 are about the only 3DS games worth owning at the moment, so it's definitely still lacking games some 10 months after launch.
The 3D effects in 3D Land look stunning though, and the level designs are really good. There's a tonne of content too (8 worlds initially, another 8 after) so you can easily spend 15+ hours on it.

You unlock a bonus level (8-Crown) by beating every single level with Mario & Luigi, and you also need to get a gold flag for each level. This bonus level's pretty damn difficult, I died around 60 times before beating it. Here's a video of it:

"Super Mario 3D Land is the first 3DS game to sell over 5 million copies worldwide.
According to Nintendo's latest figures, the game sits at 5.03m units sold around the world, just ahead of Mario Kart 7's 4.54m sales. Both have easily trumped the previous best-seller, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, which sits at 2.49m global sales.
Considering 3DS sales hit 15 million recently, that's potentially one-third of all 3DS owners picking up Mario's platforming adventure, a staggering figure. No wonder Nintendo has a 2D Super Mario game for 3DS due out before April 2013.
Nintendo has high hopes that these titles will continue to sell throughout the 3DS's life, no doubt crossing its fingers for a New Super Mario Bros.-like situation: over 28m copies of Mario's DS outing have sold around the world."

this dude on FB posted up that the reason Nintendo posted their first loss last year was because the Wii wasn't HD, that it had a gimmicky controller, blah blah blah
I told him, "No, it's because the 3DS didn't sell like they thought it would. Wii killed everything all along. If zero Wiis sold for the next two years, Xbox MIGHT catch up."
Then dude was like, "Well, I meant to include software in my argument."
Yeah. New Super Mario Bros. Shit, look at Mario Kart on Wii. FUCKING CRAZY SALES. Wii Fit? Come the fuck on.
