The cinematography and the way the game tells its story blew me away. It's touching and entertaining.

Man, if there's any series to own a PS3 for, it's definitely the Uncharted series. Uncharted 2 to me was the best game ever made. Like period. That joint even had my wife captivated watching me play like she was watching the soaps lol. They got that Uncharted 1 and 2 bundle pack now for $40 too. You won't be sorry for coppin.

I'm waiting until I finish Uncharted 2 before I buy 3, i'm 75% done now...

360 is my primary gaming console, but I did get a PS3 last Christmas and have been playing catch up on the exclusive Sony stuff.

I have the first Uncharted and loved it, but I JUST ordered part 2 this past Friday lol, with the intent on beasting thru it before 3 hit (the latter I've pre-ordered already). For some reason I thought 3 was dropping mid-November.

I guess as long as 2 arrives by Wednesday or Thursday I should finish it in time to start 3 the day it drops*.






(*I know I'm being dramatic. Worst case is I won't finish 2 before the day 3 comes out, but at least as soon as I finish 2 the new one will be right there ready for me to get into).

I plan on coppin a PS3 this XMAS for the sole reason of the Uncharted series. I will play 1, 2 & 3 straight thru...by the time I'm done with the Trilogy, Hitman Absolution & Max Payne 3 should be out on the Box.

I love Portal 2's co-op. Obviously it's not touching the narrative of the single player, but it's still great on it's own. The puzzles are still somewhat challenging and if you have a friend with you, it's great on split screen.

Not gonna lie. The co-op from the 1st was awesome but the single player was unmemorable to me. Nobody is seeing the storyline and voice acting in UC3. Sounds to me like the reviewer wants to be a contrarian because everybody is slobbering Naughty Dog's knob.

They're right that Drake does occasionally do something I didn't tell him to do, but calling the gameplay "woefully<---- faulty" where "undeserved deaths abound<-----" is trying a little too hard to be the naysayer, especially in light of so much done right.

and I'm playing damn near every game dropping. The Uncharted 3 demo they have at Best Buy right now is the greatest demo I've ever played. Uncharted is that one PS game that makes me feel like the PS3 is a worthy purchase.

i agree that the controls in all the uncharted games are pretty sloppy. especially the shooting mechanics and hit detection.

but it's not supposed to be.

if you play Uncharted as a straight up shooter, you're definitely missing the point. the designers clearly want you to always use a mixed range attack style that emphasizes melee (especially in UC3) and stealth as much gunplay.

i can understand somebody not having a taste for that design choice, but you have to understand sharp shooting mechanics would flatten out every other aspect of Uncharted's action.

as far as movement, there isn't any other 3rd person action game that outclasses Uncharted. not inFamous or Prototype or Just Cause. Assassin's Creed's mechanics are deeper, but that actually makes it just as fickle as UC. both games get smooth as fuck when you get familiar with their quirks, though (which doesn't take long at all).

In GOW, the hit detection needs to be really precise. In Uncharted, the controls feel right for the type of game it is in the Tomb Raiderish mold.
