: OPENING DAY
30 games. 16 teams. When we finish this, I think we would have completed the best season in the NBA 2K series. We've had a variety of owners since Season I. Some aren't with us anymore (DVS, jdub1313), some won't go away (Mysp1200, LOQuent). This season is shaping up to have the most intrigue. We've added a new element to the game (The Pre and Mid Season Drafts) that should breath some new life in some organizations. Plus some old owners have new stomping grounds (mercy4u in Oklahoma City, Lach in Atlanta). I have high hopes for the next 30 games. Let's have fun with this cause honestly, I think it's going to be my last.
: RULES
I want to go over our rules for the new guy and you old heads who should know better:
- You have ONE WEEK to play 5 GAMES!
- If for any reason you need extra time, please let me or thelonestranger know. We can work with you.
- Other than that, DON'T HOLD UP THE LEAGUE! Seriously, communicate w/ us so we can keep things moving.
- We have one owner who lives on the other side of the planet (loquent). Please PLEASE work with him on playing your games. He works with us by playing his games at odd hours, let's extend that courtesy to him too.
- Remember, it is YOUR job to schedule games either here or elsewhere. Don't wait until the last minute and say your opponent never contacted you. BE PROACTIVE and contact your opponent. All it takes is a reply in this post.
- If we have to simulate more than one game without any word from you, you will be kicked out of the league. NO QUESTIONS ASKED! So again, please communicate with us.

: TRADE DEADLINE & MID SEASON DRAFT
No more trades will be accepted at the start of Round 4. We will have a mid season draft that will last two rounds. Yes, you can trade draft picks. The draft order will be set by the current win loss record (with the worst record getting the first pick and so forth).
: A WORD ABOUT THE SCHEDULE
In addition to the longer season, I've slightly adjusted the schedule so you play more games against people in your conference. I basically went in and changed games so east would play east and west would play west (to the best of my ability). It didn't work out perfectly every time I did it, and I only did it on the odd numbered rounds. The old system just put the teams in a random order, and then repeats that order after you've played everyone. I like the idea of playing people within your conference multiple times. So some of you may play a team 3 times this season (i got mercy4u 3X's this year....what was I thinking?).
: MOST PRESSURE TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS - MYSP1200 (KNICKS)
After 4 seasons of turmoil, the New York Knicks make the German born forward Dirk Nowitzki the face of their franchise. No one is expecting the Knicks to reach the Finals, but they must reach the playoffs in order to call this season a success. The Atlantic division will probably be led by the Boston Celtics, but it's very possible the Knicks could come in second. If the Knicks and GM Mysp1200 fail to make the playoffs, expect major changes at Madison Square Garden.
: BEST OFF SEASON ADDITION - MYSP1200 (KNICKS) / LOQUENT (PISTONS)
I think both the Knicks and Pistons made huge splashes with their selections. The Knicks for obvious reasons (see above). LOQuent addressed a serious need in the Pistons front court. If you all can remember, 'Quent coached the Orlando Magic and Dwight Howard to the playoffs in Season I. While Shaquille O'Neal is no Howard, it will definitely help stretch the offense for Rip Hamilton and Ben Gordon. The Central Division should be very interesting.
: THE GARY PAYTON AWARD (Trash talking) - REALITYRAP (CELTICS)
We have a new mouth of the league. It was previously our man LOQuent, but last season the rap got in a few faces before and after games. We'll see how the Celtics fare with Al Jefferson and KG in the paint (uh..dangerous?). As the wins pile up, it'll be harder to keep either one of these guys quiet. And with all the losing the Pistons have endured the past two seasons, I'm sure 'Quent's been waiting to tell us what he really thinks.
: TEAM THAT'S GOING TO SURPRISE FOLKS - UCANTSEEME (BOBCATS)
I was looking at the East, and wrote in Boston, Atlanta and Detroit (Shaq factor). Then I was about to write in thelonestranger and the Chicago Bulls at #4 but I forgot about our rookie owner who just recently won the pre-season tournament. Sure, he had the Los Angeles Lakers, but dude plays a solid game. I think the Bobcats could surprise some folks. I'm curious how the Bulls will use Jamison this season. The Shawn Marion project didn't work out so well in Season III.
: BEST NEW COACH IN A NEW SITUATION - MERCY4U (THUNDER)
He's won wrings with Kobe, LeBron and now he's looking to put some diamonds on the finger of Durantula. I honestly don't think anything changes with mercy4u with this new team. I think the Thunder and Lakers are going to battle for the top spot in the Western Conference. I highly expect mercy4u to use Durant like Kobe, but It will be interesting to see how he plays without Bynum and Gasol in the paint.
