Apple Worldwide Developers Conference Kicks Off June 7 in San Francisco

bad news is even if it comes out the day of in the states, it's gonna be another week or two before it makes its way over here.

That shit is a pipe dream in the states, the network strain is so bad at this moment in time ill just be happy with undropped calls.

until a few months ago when people I know kept complaining and they live in major ass cities. I unlocked my iPhone and get 3G & Tethering because every network over here is GSM. The speed is great and the next version, most likely, will be on any carrier since the EU doesn't go for that exclusive shit too long.

Oh I pay around 40 dollars a month for 3000 outgoing (all incoming is free in Europe) and 5 gigs of data (as heavily as I use it I still average around 300 mbs a month). My phone company just called me and offered a free HTC Hero (i can use it for testing purposes), mobile broadband and a micro-sim for 5 dollars more a month.

Either it's a testament to how dope the iPhone is or there is a shitload of dumb motherfuckers for sticking around through the complaints I hear.

Well this is a tantalizing find. Boy Genius Reports reports that some MobileMe users are seeing their account type switch from "Individual" to "Full Member," the hope being that a WWDC announcement will make everyone a "Free Member" by default.

Of course it could amount to nothing, but there have been murmurings that this might happen, and in any event it's certainly something we've been hoping would happen.

As Matt explained, MobileMe's services aren't really a luxury anymore, and users are increasingly growing to expect that type of seamless, automatic syncing on their devices. Announcing a free, basic MobileMe service at WWDC would go a long way to getting Apple's head in the cloud and fulfilling that expectation.

Of all the surprises we expected to hear about in the WWDC keynote, a multitouch trackpad peripheral didn't exactly pop into our brains. But -- whoomp -- here it is. What we appear to be looking at is a brand new input device that Apple has dreamed up which connects to desktops (and laptops, if you like) via Bluetooth, much like the Apple Keyboard. If you take what you see in the photos at face value, it would seem that the folks in Cupertino are making a play for finger-based input in a big way -- taking the work they've done on Mac laptops and the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and translating it to the desktop realm. This weirdly lines up perfectly with rumors from earlier in the year, emanating from both John Gruber (of Daring Fireball fame), and MacRumors -- the former reporting that Apple was set to release a "Mentioned-Nowhere-Else-But-in-This-Very-Headline Multi-Touch Trackpad Gadget for Desktop Macs," and the latter taking notice of an Apple trademark application for the "Magic Trackpad." It certainly all makes sense given that the company has made not-so-subtle moves away from standard input devices to finger-friendly options in many, many of its recent products. Whatever the case may be, we're potentially just hours away from the truth, so feast your eyes on the photos, and get ready for the big reveal.
