Regular season series: Lakers 2-0

LeroyBumpkin and the Jazz back their way in to the playoffs to meet the #1 team in the league. Since Round 3 began a few weeks back, Kobe Bryant and the Lakers have been on a tear. Nobody has found a solution to stopping Bryant. So unless the Jazz can contain Kobe and Pau Gasol, it's not looking good for them. Lakers 3-0

#2 Phoenix Suns (13-6) vs.
#3 Cleveland Cavaliers (15-5)
Regular season series: Tied 1-1

The series between the Phoenix Suns and the Cleveland Cavaliers is based on one factor: Can they take care of the Cavs before LeBron James returns from his separated shoulder? It's just that simple. If thelonestranger allows Weslexner to steal one game and give James a chance to play, this series could go the entire five games. If the last two games of the season are any indicator of how the Cavs play without James (a loss to the Atlanta Hawks and a close win with the Sixers) then they're in trouble. It's no secret that the Cavs are not the same team without him. Shaquille O'Neal has been playing like a 21-year old, Steve Nash is one of the top three point shooters, and Amare Stoudemire is back from injury. Outside of Mo Williams, who do the Cavs have? Suns 3-1

EASTERN CONFERENCE

#1 Boston Celtics (13-5) vs.
#4 Atlanta Hawks (8-9)
Regular season series: Celtics 2-0

The heavily favored Celtics should sweep this series. In order for the Hawks to make this series interesting, they're going to need heavy contributions from Joe Johnson, Mike Bibby and Al Horford. Both Johnson and Bibby haven't found their mid-range and outside jumpers that make Smith's job easy in the paint. While the Hawks led the league in average points against, they're defense didn't result in many wins. The Celtics just have too many weapons on offense to stop. Kevin Garnett is a force in the paint and Ray Allen is having a career year. Plus with KG and the newly acquired Carlos Boozer in the paint, Smith's job is going to be even more difficult. Celtics 3-0

#2 Orlando Magic (12-5) vs.
#3 Detroit Pistons (10-10)
Regular season series: Detroit 1-0

Now I know how David Stern felt when the Lakers and Celtics met in the Finals last year. While not quite on that level, the story behind this game is just as good. Everyone knows that LOQuent plays with the Detroit Pistons, but when he went to choose his team for the leauge he found that someone had beat him to the punch. Nipsey, best known as The Giant Killer, is the only team under .500 to beat the Lakers, Cavaliers, Celtics and Magic. Now with the Magic, LOQuent has vowed revenge against nipsey for taking "his team". Vengeance wasn't his in round two when he lost to his former team by two points. Now, they meet again in the playoffs in a best of 5 series. At the beginning of the season, nobody could handle Dwight Howard. Four rounds later, teams have noticed that the dominant center is human, and can be contained. And since the Magic don't have many offensive options outside of Superman, it could be an early first round exit for the Magic. Pistons 3-2

So far my tourney record is 1 championship, eastern conference champ and a 1st round No 2k view 1st round exit. I am by far the best in the league and spent the second round on working on other players on my team since I hate depending on one person-- which is why Howard's numbers went down. The only issue I see is a championship game against the unfairly juiced Lakers but I'm in the lab devising schemes.

I know you were concentrating on shutting down Sheed. No secret where my strengths lie. But that dude was missing point blank shots. Tayshaun too. Those dudes did NOT come to play today. I could NOT stop Superman though. 14-14! Really? Anyway, that 16-0 run to end the first did me in. I mean, it was tied at 8-8, then you just came down and dominated. I got one shot opportunities and you'd get the rebound then come down and score. Couldn't really answer you defensively. Good game. We'll try to finish this up tomorrow.

Yeah I just saw that Howard was 100% for the game but most of them were where I exploited your double teams. I too was amazed that Prince was doing so poorly and you barely used Stuckey who can drive his ass off to the hole.

Yeah. I try not to double too much. I got burned a couple of times leaving three point shooters open. But I like to spice it up to force them into bad passes.

I was actually trying to get Stuck to the hole. I know how explosive he can be. Jameer's defense on him was pretty tight. When I tried to get around, Stuckey would do that "2K9 wrap around bug" where he just rides the defender's hip and curls around rather than running by him.

I know every single person on that team and who to push it with. I prefer the Piston's style play anyway where there is no exact 'superstar' that everyone has to depend on.

then he went on a 16-0 run to close the first quarter. It was essentially a wrap after that. I made a little run in the 4th that brought it down to like 5 or 6. But he bounced back with a 6-0 run that sealed the deal.
