Electronic Arts Mobile on Thursday announced the release of SimCity for the iPhone and iPod touch.
It's now available for purchase and downloads for $9.99 through the App Store.
Created by Will Wright and originally released for the Mac and Amiga in 1989, the game gives you the ability to create your own city from your iphone. You'll have to manage your SimCity through growth and expansion to disaster recovery, as SimCity joins other EA-released games such as Spore, Scrabble, Monopoly and Tetris games mature and evolve.
SimCity for iPhone and iPod touch requires the iPhone 2.2 software update.

full functionality and the touchscreen actually works admirably. the screen is too small to see some detail but honestly, not that much is lost in the transition. some of the menus are slow to load and there's a learning curve as to what the icons mean but nothing too bad.
